We should start a database of local and national race tracks in the country, broken out by type. Everyone knows the big name tracks but there are many small name tracks that are good for test & tune and the like, which could be better choice than street racing.

Give us your location, track name, track type, (Drag, Road, and Drift) and what you would rate it at. 1 Best and 10 Sucks Ass.

Hope this will encourage more take it to the track responsibility and great stories.<O:p

I give Cecil County an 8..
An 8 is pretty close to a "Sucks Ass" rating... Share you experiences with this track that led to your rating? What should the rest of us be watching out for when visiting this track?

Thanks,

Steven

Well I have ran a couple times.. Not that my car is super fast.. but it's a bumpy track. My fiance ran his 11.7 Civic there and he says it's not the greatest track. I know a guy that ran his rail car there, but won't anymore because of the condition. Plus it takes them hours to clean the track when someone breaks. Just my .02 though. I will continue to go though cause it's the only one that is close to me :)

8 is kind of shitty.. Let me fix that.. I will say it's probably a 5 or 6. Sorry about that.

I have run at both 75-80 Dragway and MIR.

MIR by far owns 75-80. The track is kept in immaculate condition by a very vigilant crew. The track is safely setup for cars capable of running around 300mph. It is 1/4 mile by default, although they can race 1/8 mile if they want. Stopping area is 3/4 to 1 mile after the traps with an exit from the strip at the far end on the right. $20 to race on non-event days. Test and Tune is on Wednesdays and Fridays. They run until they are done. The track offers Sunoco leaded racing fuel. Overall this track gets a 2 from someone who has raced at it.

75-80 is a below average track. This is where the show Motorweek of PBS does their car testing that you see on tv. The track opened in the late 50s/early 60s, and somebody forgot to tell the owner he needs to maintain it. Everything at the track is original, including the toilets. The stands are made of wood that I wouldn't trust to hold my full weight (and I weigh 160lbs). The track is 1/4 mile for anything slower then 10s and 1/8 mile for anything faster then 10s. The stopping area is short, so if your racing, you better stand on the brakes after you hit the traps. There are 3 exits from the strip, all on your left. The crowd that comes to this track is a rough redneck crowd that has had a history of rioting against the police. Test and Tune is on Fridays. $20 to race. There is a large import crowd that comes here to race. The place shuts down at 11 so the neighbors don't get pissed. The owner is trying to sell the place so the future of this track is always in question. This track gets a 9 from someone who has raced at it.

You do know that Cecil is considered to be one of the fastest tracks on the east coast right? I have never had a problem there, and have nothing but good things to say about it. I also used to race at Milan(Michigan), and comming from that track Cecil is great.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :) But like I said I go cause it's the only one close to me ;)

Its a good track, it's no Englishtown, but it gets the job done :)

Tulsa Raceway Park

I give Hallett a 9 because it is a great track and highly technical. Thunder Valley gets a 6.5 because they only want to prep the track on "king of the valley" night. I've never been to the Tulsa track, but when the road course opens up I'll be there!!
