About $6K, but worth every penny. I could have built a system myself but avoided that hassle completely with this system.

Yeah, I got the 21 inch Flat screen with it, that jacked the price up a bit. The thing sounds like a jet taking off my desk though, with all the fans this thing uses. If you do any video editing, CAD, or hard core gaming this computer is it. I do some video editing and haven’t come close to testing the limit with this thing. Customer service sucked at the time I purchased but the computer itself over shadowed the small fact.

It's nice to see I wasn't the only one willing to lay down the cash for an Alienware. 8)

That might be the case for desktops (all they do is use the same parts you can buy in the store and slap an alienware badge on the front, as ALL computer companies do.) It's a little different with laptops. I built my desktop, went with an alienware centrino for the laptop.
The laptops are nice, but it's pointless to pay the premium for a desktop.
Do you guys want to hear it directly from Alienware why their computers are actually a good bargain and what sets them apart from the competition? I can have one of there Tecks explain why here on this post?
Any takers. We can make this really interesting if you behave and ask only intelligent questions and give intelligent opinions?

Hey, can you get my alienware laptop fixed? The power plug (pcon3 on the motherboard) broke off the damn motherboard a couple weeks after I took the computer out of the box, with no way to charge it.. it's worthless. Tech support said I'd have to pay for everything, because it must have been caused by improper force.
I'm a little unhappy with the tech support, but beyond that it was nice for the couple weeks I used it.

Try giving them a call again, just let them know what happened and as long as it is still under warranty I'm sure they will replace it.
Also, if you are an Alienware owner, you can visit the tech forum and customer forum to further communicate your troubles.
Man Alienware is so overpriced, I had one of my brothers friend build me a desktop the same 3.2 Intel 4 160 Gig ATI 9600 PRO(soon to be 9800 PRO) and much more CD-RW DVD readable drive and a CD-RW and DVD-RW drive 4 usb ports in back and 2 in the front, Firewire and a ton of software.
$1200 flat. You tell me whats better?

I also got a 21-inch flat screen, Creative 700Watt; 7.1 surround sound system, Audigy 2 Z5 mixer, and 3-year warranty. I can plug an electric guitar, keyboard, and etc and record them on the computer. I've got 4 USB ports in the rear and 4 USB in the front. You take all that extra stuff out and sure; I'm bet you could get it down in price.
But I also got the 2 GB ECC Corsair RAM, Two 36GB 10K Rpm Hard drives, 256MB Ultra5950 Vida Card, and the Intel is the 3.2GB HT Extreme Edition. Plus, all this stuff is bench marked to ensure compatibility with winduh XP and the other hardware.
Everyone has his or her own opinion but no one had made me feel that I've paid too much.... When you want a Ferrari, you have to cough up the cash for one.
Later,
Steven
