To echo Dr. Michael sort of... When you purchase a product from a real company and not just an average person over eBay, you expect them to treat you as a customer. City-speed, apparently, usually does. Not this time, though. It's been 10 days now since I purchased and paid for a Greddy turbo kit for my Civic. They never sent me an invoice, which everyone seems to do nowadays automatically. After 5 days I tried to contact the company through eBay. No reply. Three consecutive days I tried to email them at different addresses provided by their website, (which BTW literally promises a reply within 24 hours) with no response whatsoever.
Through some investigation that shouldn't have been necessary, I learned that City-speed doesn't have a very large warehouse, if they have one at all. They have a "dynamic stock" to keep prices down. Sounds good, but they like to run out of products that they have put up for auction on more than a few occasions. Seems odd, no? I noticed after browsing through about 1000 feedbacks that they seem to have quite a few problems with their delivery and the quality of their shipping. Several people complained about the boxes being damaged, for which City-speed blamed UPS. They also claimed it was UPS' fault when products were received late or VERY late, as in a month or more late. Well, if there are so many problems (more than 10 per month or so), why not switch shippers? Also, late shipments have been blamed many times on the buyer, who maybe sent a personal check or money order which had to be cleared before shipment. Fair enough.
It may sound like a conspiracy theory, but it makes sense to me right now. They have $2350 that's mine. My emails apparently aren't getting their attention. Maybe the negative feedback I just left them will, or the Paypal claim I will file tomorrow if they don't communicate.
City-speed sucks. Despite their feedback and good prices, I'm getting the fuckin run-a-round. I won't be too surprised if they blame my email providers (Yahoo AND Outblaze) for this, or even Paypal.
