VW R32 VS LIGHTNING

I was crossing va beach blvd. onto oceanna blvd this past saturday night. i was in the right lane and passed the first light just after it turned green. the first car in the left lane was a black lightning. i continued to go over the railroad tracks and around the bends. the lightning caught up and paced my rear bumper. once we got around the bend onto the straight road he flew by me and i saw his brake lights come on and his personalized plate [SAVURGAS]. i downshifted and caught up and we were riding side by side. he was tapping his accelerator waiting for me to go. he did it several times before i punched it. i got 1/2 car on him and was inching away before he shut it down. i rolled down my window and gave him a thumbsup and he gave me a headlight flash. i turned off and he passed, we both honked acknowledging a good run.

So basically they were equal in that respect?

anything done to your R? I've got some mods on mine and haven't run a Lightning yet. I figured I'd lose.

damn, your really a VDub guy arnt you, 3 of them.

the only thing i have found that i don't like about v dubs it the emblem bump in the hood, i hate how that looks.

yea i have 3. i just recently sold the my 4th which is the most VW's i have owned at one time. here is a quick pic of my '01 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition & '04 R32.

Pretty much the same mods except I have a short ram, REVO ecu, and VF Engineering motor mounts, and bypass valve. No short shifter for me. I didn't think the R could hang with Lightnings.

i went to bugout this weekend and was the only R there making 8 second passes. at the time of eliminations they bumped me from street to pro and i had to pay an extra $10 or i couldnt race anymore. i paid, and redlighted in the first round :dork:
