just bought and eclipse and the system was hooked up to a sub and an amp but the old owner took it out and put in different cd player for me. when i crank it up and it hits the cd player cuts out for 1 or 2 secs. the start right were it left off at. any ideas what i need to do.

Get a new one... What kind is it. Some have voltage overload sensors that will kick off for a sec or 2. My house system does that. I got some a 1500watt CROWN amp and some 18" club speakers. When I turn it up to loud it kicks off.
