I found this forum about 2 weeks ago and its got me thinking.
Heres the problem.
My name is Andrew i live on the Sushine Coast in Queensland in a smallish town called Bli Bli. I have been selling cars for two years and couldn't think of an easier job its so easy to point out the good points of a product when you enjoy them so much.
I am 19 turning 20 in like 2 weeks and nearly 3 years ago like all real men do i turned 17 and got my drivers license.
I thought i was gonna be excellent finally being truely involved in the automotive world. However the reality turned out to be quite different.
About 5 mins from where i live is a place called mooloolaba its quite a nice modern area on the coast where car enthusiasts used to meet, cruise and generally hang out and enjoy themselvs.
But in the last 2-3 years the police presence has multiplied and muliplied to the point where if you car has alloy wheels you are going to get pulled for a "RANDOM" roadworthy inpection. Its no joke the police send under cover cars from the state traffic task force just to catch people.
Not to mention the government have changed laws now so that if you get caught offending 3 times they crush your car no joke if you rev your engine in a public place on 3 seperate occasions they crush you car.
Anyway whats ended up happening is the majority of poeple with interesting cars a too scared to go out its ridiculous.
After reading on this forum about what people in the states get up to with events and much more organization i was hoping to try to meet poeple in my near by area who like hanging around talking bout cars and just enjoying themselves around cars and try to bring some life back in to the car community.
Anyways thats my 2 cents.
Andrew
