Brian linked me to this yesterday. Very interesting, but thats hella expensive for a rally that's never gone down before. Be wary of the person organizing this event, like all others, you can trust no one.

What rally are you doing for 5 grand?
The prize money makes the difference in the entry fee.

I thought players run and such were about $5k entry? But yea, i guess to have a prize money you'd have to pay more. Brian were you on the Players run on M5? I dont remember seeing your car.

Cannonball Canada is very cheap, $8000 CDN.

It's probably the cheapest it'll ever be for a rally of it's size because Canada isn't exactly the tourist hotspot...

if it were $11,800 U.S. I'd do it in a hearbeat, but it's 10,000 GBP which with the conversion rate comes out to just under $19,000 :( a little too rich for my blood when you factor in trasportation of the car to get to the UK and back to the US, plus airfare... our currency sucks right now :whatever:

Your currency will suck for quite a while... Odds are it will drop down to less than many "half dollar" currencies. The Canadian dollar is expected to be worth more than the american dollar again within the next two years for example.

Meanwhile the rest of the world (including Canada) is having a great time because our currency is worth more every day...

$8000CDN is $6500US about.

Ug, we have an 8 page thread on the currency deficit, and World affair on SaabLink right now. Both sides of the pond are in on it.

On topic, what Car would be the other choice? Not the dually, and you wouldn't take the banana would you?

If anyone is interested, contact the Casino Run and ask them about the TeckEast early bird discount. This is the first rally that's offering up a $100,000 grand prize in the US! Should be a blast.

hey if someone wants to front the money ill offer up my ML55? it would at least be an entertaining run... could watch movies and play PS2 games if you get bored... tops out at 146 though =(

Duc749R
05-10-2005, 05:21 PM
The 993 is at a race shop here in SF getting some adjustments and modifications, with the boost turned off its running around 780hp with the boost on over 900hp. Its the fastest car that I have ever been in. My ducati 749R's acceleration doesn't even compare to this car. Should be an interesteing race, oh I mean rally.
