Okay, since there's no real official thread on it, UR is two years away, Cannonball Canada is a year away...
I'm coming back from a two year euro vacation, just to go on this run...
I have one MINOR problem, I have no idea wtf I'm going to race in...
Regardless, anyone else here planning on going, aside from Dado/Dustin?
Any rough idea on the route? Kinda, USA Cannonball style, aka, from one coast to the other? It's probably a best idea to stick close the the TransCanada highway, as I mean, shit, all of our highways suck, especially in Manitoba and Saskatchewan... TC is probably the best, it's def the biggest in terms of east/west...
I honestly would love details, and I am going to guess it's stopping in all the major towns along the way?
if it starts out west, I'd think it'd go: Vancouver, Calgary/Regina/Saskatoon (Calgary is 12 hours away from Vancouver, not including ferry time, doing the speed limit, which is advisable through the mountains esp rogers pass), Regina is 8 hours east of calgary doing the speed limit, there's nothing of any size between Calgary and Regina...
According to following the speed limit, this is how long each leg would take, and realistically, you'd probably be doing triple the limit through the praries, mountains are another story... And sadly, there's no real way to divide Canada into a reasonable length of time...
Vancouver-Calgary - 12ish hours not including Ferry
Calgary-Regina (stopoff? see Capone's tunnels? or something?)-8 hours
Regina-Winnipeg - 7 hours
See, this is where the legs get really screwed up, because between Winnipeg and toronto, there is nothing basically... And before that, there's no other "route" to take unless you change highways 52 times and be retardedly confusing...
Winnipeg to Toronto - 23 whopping hours/Winnipeg to Ottawa - 28 whopping hours
Toronto to Fredericton - 15.5 hours/Ottawa to Fredericton - 12 hours
OR
End in Quebec somewhere?
Or go to some place in Quebec instead of Ottawa/Toronto?
Anyone have ANY idea on where it takes us?
Seriously, I've driven from one side of this country to the other, it doesn't break up very evenly, the entire western half of the country is all short distances, and then there's NOTHING from Winnipeg to Toronto, and then from Fredericton, you've got Saint John's Newfyland...
All in all, it's not a long drive...
I mean, that route that I laid out is about 57ish hours? Thats doing the speed limit, realistically it's about... 36ish hours? I'd say...
I honestly, have no clue, so, these are my random speculations, which leads me to believe: it zigzags north and south across Canada... which will be annoying as hell because you'll hit every crappy ass road in the country...
Soooooooooooooo Yeah, any actual details on routes?
