So what was your first car? Was it what you wanted? And how long before you got rid of it?

My first car was a 1974 Dodge Charger. Had it for less then a year, before selling it for my Accord. Reason for selling it was, it was too high maintance and I couldn't handle the bills that went along with that kind of car. It was a beast though let me tell you that =)

1991 Eclipse GS Turbo (bought it in 99)- modded QUITE a bit from previous owner, but I had no idea 'cause I was just a stupid 16 year old HS student who wanted a pretty car :D I sold it to my boyfriend at the time, we're not together anymore but we still work on it and go racing scaring all the little Vettes who think they are bad@ss :p

And yes, I wanted an Eclipse :)

2nd car was my 2000 Cougar I purchased for myself as a graduation present in 2000 :)

my first car was this, my 95 se teg! I hate to admit it but i also wanted an eclipse originally. well first i wanted an older celica but those things were holdin their value too well and i couldnt afford one lol. then was thinkin an eclipse, took one to my shop to get checked out and it was a POS to say the least... anyway then luck had it that i found tegs galore in the selling ads my local papers. and the rest is history!

My first vehicle was a TRUCK. 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 w/ the well-used Z71 Off-Road Package. When I got it, it was new at the time...all the rednecks in the parking lot at school down in NC were jealous.

my first was a 1986 ford F-150, i hated it, no exhaust just headers so all the exhaust fumes came into the cabin, no radio (just a hole in the dash), no heat or air. it was fun until the brakes quit working while we where moven houses and i had a bunk bed and a couch in the bed.

You ever consider making it a trail ready 4x4?

First vehicle? 1986 Fiero GT, three months later, 3.4DOHC Twin-Turbo Fiero GT
then 1998 Dodge Durango
then 1992 Jeep YJ
then 1981 Jeep J20
then 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief
then 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually, CTD/6SPD with mucho modifications, and pours more black smoke than a freight train...
and as of today...
1981 Ford Bronco

Still have: 98 Durango, 92 YJ, 79 Chief, 04 Ram and obviously the 81 Bronco

BMW M3 on the way soon, maybe...

I would say, I probably could've bought a 355 Spyder if I hadn't spent so much on the YJ, the J20 and the new Ram...

Then again, my Ram makes more power than a 355 ever would

'91 Acura Legend, that was a hell of a car. Had two more after it, along
with 3 accords, and a Prelude. Then a Lexus LS400, and now the CLK 55.
Also sometime in between all the hondas/acuras I was forced to drive a
Ford Crown Vic Police Intercepter (Ex-DEA car with gun rack and bullet
proof windows) for 6 months so I would learn "responsibility and how to
keep a car for more than two months"

First car was 1995 Plymouth Neon base model, as base as it gets. Manual, no a/c, no power steering, no power locks/doors. Red with the gray bumpers. I put shiny hubcaps on it, Pacesetter catback exhaust, euro taillights, clear corners, flame interior, and stickers galore. It was domestic rice to the max.

My mom bought it for me as a first car in 2000 for $3,200. Had 95,000 miles on it. Probably wasn't worth the money we paid for it but we were new to the whole buying a used car thing. I sold it about a year after I bought it for $1,200 and bought the car I have now, a 1996 Dodge Neon. I don't have any partial value to Neons or anything, it was just how things worked out.

That wasn't really your car, was it? It's on a major picture-stealing fest on CarDomain, lots of people claiming it as their own. :eek6:

it was a 4-speed manual too (yeah 4-speed manual pretty amazing :P )

My dad's 1980 Toyota Celica ST coupe is a 4-spd stick also. I've driven it, but never got to the fourth gear because it:

A) Slips at high RPM.
B) Clutch grabs at the top.
C) Leaks the clutch's hydraulic fluid.
D) Car is not registered or insured. :D

Anyway. My first car was a 1991 Acura Integra LS, with a four-speed auto (w00t!). It was a peppy little modified car, Naxos exhaust, Z-Racing rims, Pirelli tires, MTX system, and the " Racing Yellow " paintjob by Maaco. :ninja: Just got rid of it yesterday, when my dad gave it to his friend for FREE. Oh well, tranny was shot on that thing anyway. But I do have lots of memories with it (going to Bimmerfest and being parked next to Dado's coveted M3 and also Andrea's SLK).

Just for the record, there has only been 1 car in my family that was ever totaled. That was my 85 VW Jetta (loved that car!!) but it was my then-boyfriend who crashed it!!
