Let's see what you guys got!
I did a low 14 last time I went to the track on a 350z...Kind of messed up though. Hadn't done it in awhile. 8) *Edit Whatever it was it was slow. Does someone remember this?

Damn, low 13's! What do you have done? I know stock they can pull low low 14's... I've even seen 13.9 out of one.
Do you remeber your trap speed?
Was that the invasion weekend? I think that was 15.3 that weekend wasn't it?

Was this a modified 350Z or stock?
Because if he ran a low 14 in a stock 350, thats not that bad at all.

When I ran it stock I pulled a 14.98 @ 91MPH. This is quite good for a stock Sentra.

Dado, I know your car is more of a top-end beast... but I thought it would be interesting to see how it performed in the 1/4 mile. Your trap speed would probably be crazy.

How did you launch?
I launched by dropping the clutch from 3000rpms. Any higher on a stock WRX tranny and u risk breaking it. I have to work on the 1-2. I was taking it easy on that b/c again the gears on a WRX are very weak and can't handle the 1-2 very well. STi RA gears are in the future for the tranny, but I am in college so it will probably be a while as I have other priorities to direct my cash towards at the moment.

Dado's car is tuned for racing at racetracks as well as the occasional drift contest. The car has a lot of prestige surrounding it. Unfortunately, you can't have an awesome racetrack car that is also an awesome 1/4 mile car. Its more than tuning an ECU, the transmission setup is entirely different in concern to gear ratios. Not too many people understand that. If Dado gets out there, everyone due to this misunderstanding will expect him to run 9s or something wild. Since Dado's car is setup to run and maintain a high top speed, hes probably not going to run 9s.
I know a stock M5 can run 11s. Since I only know that he runs 465hp @ 14psi, and I do not know how his gear ratios, etc. I would ballpark him at very wide range of 11s-13s, with more emphasis somewhere in the low 12s.
1YellowSpecV
07-28-2004, 03:43 PM
Show me a STOCK M5 that runs 11's.
I understand that Dado's car isn't tuned for the 1/4 mile, I already said that. And I sure hope people wouldn't expect him to go run 9's with less than 500WHP.

Try feathering the clutch at a higher RPM... either that or drop it at redline.

After you questioned me regarding the time a stock M5 can run, I went to Road and Track to find out that when they tested the M5 in 2003 it only ran 13.3 stock. I shall no longer trust that BMW owner who told me his father ran 11s in a stock M5.

im4u2nv81
08-06-2004, 06:30 PM
I ran a 13.41 @ 103mph back in Novemeber in my 03 SRT-4. At the time, I had mopar stage 1 (computer and injectors), AGP WGA, AEM intake, REX motor mount inserts. Since then, I have added 3" catless downpipe w/ electric cutout, re-wired vacuum setup to control my own boost (no PCM interference), more boost (19 v. 17), MBC and am hoping for 12's on street tires.
When I ran the 13.41 I ran an 8.7 1/8 at 84mph. I am now running a traction limited 8.5's 1/8 @87mph. I think this will only equate me for a low 13 but I would love to put her in the 12's on streets. I was gonna go to Montgomery tomorrow but fug it! I'll make the trip sometime later.

a 7.5 in the 1/4??? if so i doubt its at 112, a 112 mph trap speed should put you in the 12s not the 7s
A Civic will never do a 7.5 unless it has a jet engine attached to it. Especially at 112.

I know, most Spec V owners are 16 year old kids who have 0 driving experiance. I know I don't have a fast car, but its pretty quick for a N/A Sentra. I'm trapping around 99MPH... so its not too bad. I want another car though, this is way to slow for me... I miss my DSM.

whats the point? you roll around every day with that stuff in..right?..if you take all your intrior out you are not really seeing what the car can do on a daily basis
CrazyD
09-28-2004, 11:15 PM
true... but i already know what my car is capable of on a daily basis... been in too many races to not know lol... the point is to do whatever necessary to make your car run faster.... track and street are complete opposites, very different when it comes to drag racing... people ice intakes, fan engines, whatever necessary to make your car run better times... if it will shave some time of my 1/4 why not remove some of the unecessary equipment.... don't need back seats unless i have a bunch of hott cheerleaders soaking wet... i do see your point tho

12.89@107 in a 1995 talon tsi which destroyed 3 trannies. i love trannies. the last and final tranny was a "bulletproof" shep tranny. biggest waste of money ever.

Alot of people here feel that dados car sould be fast in the quarter. The truth is BMWs , especially his, are not designed for straight line racing.

Is that the Protege 5? What do you have done to it? What was your reaction time? My quarter mile is faster than that, but a Protege 5 tore me a new asshole on the highway on the way back from SEMA IAS in Atlantic City.

Yes, the P5. I have the 'basic bolt-ons'. I fell asleep at the staging lights. With a good driver (and possibly better tires) it might run a 15.9999999999. However, my trap speeds are getting better
The ZX351 made its track debut yesterday:
12.7 @ 108 :woo:
It now weighs a beefy 2900lbs!!!
