Well, a friend of a friend just bought an 01 Z28 camaro 6spd this week and decided to bring it out tonight.

1st race from a stop:
We headed out to an empty road and lined up. I took him off the line and brought it up to the end of 3rd.

I don't really try to judge how many carlenghts behind people are since im more concerned with not killing myself, so i'll just say he was a good distance behind.

2nd race from a roll:
I thought he might take me here since I still have stock turbos.
I slowed down to about 60mph, did the three honks, and took we both took off. I guess he ended up trying to shift from 2nd to 4th or something like that, so he dropped back right away, then he got it in the right gear. He looked to be about 3-4 carlengths back at around 150mph.

Anyway it was fun to see what my car would do against an LS1.

The TT Stealth is the VR-4 isn't it? I don't know a lot about the Mitsu's, but I know the VR-4 is fast as hell! Not too difficult to kill a Z28 with one of those! It's always fun to find out your car is faster than a very fast car (not like I've ever experienced it with my Neon, but you know what I mean) :icon_lol:

Ummm, the 01 Z28 should be capable of running mid to high 13's... something a STOCK VR-4 or Stealth R/T would have a hard time getting. They usually run high 13's-low 14's stock(which isn't bad). The Stealth isn't stock(I don't know what is done) so I believe that a win is believable. Sounds like the guy in the Z28 can't drive so well(or isn't used to the car), because he should have been able to keep up with you.

Thanks for the info...like I said, I don't really know too much about them. The only times I've seen them in person or racing is highly modified. I have never seen one stock. :bigok:

Yeah its basically the exact same car as the VR4, just with a few different body panels.

My car is currently in the 12s right now, its not stock. Although many people on stock TTs/VR4s are getting mid/high 13s easily if they know how to drive.

But the guy in the Z28 probably couldnt drive too well since he threw it in the wrong gear on the highway run...

I'd say, based on this, he probably wasn't used to the gearing/shiftpoints yet...

It takes me a good week of driving to get used to the shiftpoints, gearing and power of a car...

a stock second gen stealth TT/ 3000GT Vr-4 will run mid-high 13's with a good driver. the only reason they generally run low 14's is because no one can launch them right... they usually bog the launch.

btw, Roy, good kill :) any pics of your stealth? :)

i have a 95 vr-4 and my dad has a 91 steath TT... gotta love 'em :D

Yeah, my name on 3si is 'Roy', i'm not sure what the exact name for my silver is, because I saw a symphonic silver VR4 at the track around here and it just looked more metallic than mine does.. I want to re-paint sometime..

I was out with a friend doing some AWD drifting in the rain so I get a few cool pictures now:

yea, the silver for the 3000GT and the stealth are different silver's. heh, i was bored, so i looked up the production numbers for the silver 94 stealth r/t tt... there were only 43 made :) one of my favorite colors.

anyway, i'm I am Me N U r U on 3si. don't post too much anymore though.
