The Teck crew is coming out to the Pittsburgh area May 13-15. We are meeting at Zelienople Airport on Saturday afternoon to participate in some legal old-fashion flashlight drag racing.

hey dustin look out for the hybrid dynamic guys, the one guy eric is always up there in his white type-r integra that runs somewhere in the 10's or 11's.. it's pretty hott..
there might be a supra with 1010 hp but i don't know if he will be there...
pgh is pretty beat but there are some cars with power

Yeah, Those Hybrid Dynamics guys don't fuck around! They have a beat ass little shop in Youngwood, PA (if you blink you will miss it as you drive through it...I used to live there) but they have some of the fastest cars in the area. They know thier stuff when it comes to turbos. There is one hell of a MEAN 95 Eclipse with a built 2.4 turbo'd swap that was running 11's on street tires/trim last I knew. They have some hella nice Silvia/240 cars and of course that sleeper white Type R. I have to stop down there again. It has been awhile since I have been past there. I used to live 3 blocks away and now I live like 30 minutes away.

Dustin, do let us know of what hotel you will be at as we are going to make it a weekend thing for us as well. Bring the baddest little Teck Baby in the world, our Zoey and hopefully get to meet you guys again. Maybe we can get Dado to sign a pack of Marlboro Lights and a "leetle" Coke for my collection. HA HA HA!

My name is Craig, i work for Xtreme MotorsportZ and i'm the person organizing this weekend event. i saw several people asking about hotels, if we can get everyone together in the same hotel i can get a killer rate and if we have enough people, i could get a whole floor reserved. there are several hotels available in the area because our shop is 10 min from the Pittsburgh International Airport. i talked to Dustin and he prefers a cheaper hotel so i was figuring on the Super8 ten min away. the hotel is also a short 20 min drive from the city and the party/club district. if i can get a commitment from enough people to be here for the weekend i have a chance to get a room at "Club Level" on the river. its a really nice club.

Bikes are welcome at this event, our shop has a motorcycle dyno as well as the car dyno. a local group of stunt riders will be showing off throught the weekend.

-at zelie airport for flashlight drags appx 5:30-9:00pm (go fast, go
straight) entry fee $25.00, OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Sunday:
-car show @ XMZ from 10-4pm (filming, sign autographs )

as for friday and sat, i'm not advertizing thoes two days, people can come
and watch if they want but i dont want people bothering the film crew.
i have invited a few select cars from around town to join us at the track,
i'm thinking about 20 cars should be good for filming. sunday is open to the public.

the local monthly TV show called "Street Heaters" will also be covering the
event and i'm working on "hot rod news" and a few other publications.

I have been clubbin' all over the east coast from Hartford to Miami (dustin can vouch for this) and i agree that compared to other big cities we dont have the "big time" night life. However, there are a few nice places to go, not the size of clubs like fur, Dream or Webster hall, but anytime you mix music, good friends and alcohol its gonna be a good time!! (plus the smaller places are less expensive!) I encourage everyone who can to come down for the friday and sat night partying, the more the merrier (sp?). LETS ROCK THIS TOWN, TECKADEMICS STYLE!!

yes it does suck that the flashlight drags are ony 1/8 mile, but its not that serious of an event, its only for fun. there are no timing lights and no time slips. its "old school" style racing, first one across the line wins.

and yes the potholes can be bad in places but its not hard to navigate around them.

The Destroy party was very cool. We drove from the Burgh to go to it. Rained most of the day and then got HOT and HUMID! YUCK! But, the rest of the night was good times. Keep it like that and we will all be happy. Pittsburgh people are not the "Dream" night club kind of party goers, as you can mostly tell. But, like you said, with the right people and the right mood, the atmostphere changes around you.

AS FOR HOTEL STUFF, yes.....i just got off the phone with the host hotel and i was able to negotiate a good rate. i'm waiting for the info to be faxed with the "group code" to give the hotel when u call for your reservation. we have a block of rooms reserved for our group, all on the same level and all will have a window view of the parking lot nad they will reserve a parking area just for us!!

And it will by my Zoey's first drag race and car show with many more to come. She loves Teckademics and watches them intently with her dad all whenever I put them in. I know what it took me to coordinate little Neon meets years ago. All the BS you go through, all the money spent, all the man hours and foot work really pay off when someone just says. "hey man, thanks!"

And btw, those hotel cribs are much better than the Pack N Play she would have to sleep in otherwise. I don't like her being only a few inches off the floor where it can get cold. Besides, she needs something a little more comfy, reguardless.

This is a nice hotel. It has an indoor pool, high-speed internet and most importantly, good parking! The Corp sales manager told me that once i have an accurate count of vehicles comming, they will reserve parking for us, away from other guests. The parking lot is visable from the rooms and everyone will be on the same floor. The lot surface is smooth asphalt and the entrance is compatable with low-clearance cars and NO SPEED BUMPS! we have arranged for our good friends, the local police, to patrol the lot after dark for security. Both rooms types: 1 queen bed or 2 dbl beds, are available for reservation as well as roll-a-way beds and cribs for thoes with youngsters. If anyone comming from far away wants to stay into the 16th and drive home monday, just let the hotel know when u make your reservation. more spicific info on the hotel is on the above website. I just made my reservations. The group name is really under Xtreme Motor Sportz (XMZ). If you tell them "XMZ-Teckademics" they will not know what your talking about, and after searching for group rates at that hotel for that weekend will come up with XMZ anyways.

If you are checking in late Friday night (late as in anytime after 9pm) like I am (I won't make it to the hotel until 11pm or so that Friday night), make sure you tell the person on the other end to make a notation in the reservation that you will be checking in really late and to hold the room. If you fail to get them to make this notation, they may give your room to somebody else if they get superpacked and people want to check in.

there are no spicific requirements to get on the track. its pretty much up to Dustin what cars he wants out on the track for filming. we have appx 2 hrs on the big north track and appx 3 hrs on the skid pad/auto-x course. i told the guys from the track that i would have about 30 cars for the tracks. as far as "tech inspection" there really is no such thing for this, its a loose event. its really up to each individual to make sure their car is safe for track driving and to make sure they dont "ball it up". everyone entering the track will have to sign a reliece form, track driving or not.

When we went down for the Destroy party, we had NO idea what we were getting into. It rained that day...we saved what little money we had for gas, food and an emergancy hotel. We walked all around DC all day because we were not sure what time stuff started. We ended up at the Smithsonian walking around most of the day. Then we kept getting harassed by bums until the car show and then we could not get into the club because of the dress code. We missed alot of the action but, we still had a good time for what it was. My buddy got to meet Dustin and shake his hand so it was worth the drive for him right there!

But PGH will be SOOO much fun! I promise to make it fun for everyone that shows. The weather should be great. Usually is that time of year. Nice temps. Usually clear skys at night too! Damn! I still need to reserve our rooms! Off to do that right now...

This will be a fun weekend. Gomie and I are look into making the trip from Green Bay.

But about M5 weekend. The information was well posted for everyone too see before the events this weekend. Dustin worked his ass off to make sure everyone knew when and where stuff was going to happen. Also a FYI for future events that have dress codes, goto the website of the clubs and look at the galleries. Find something like the people are wearing on there and you will not have any problems getting in. I would also get to events a half hour early because lines grow really damn fast. Glad to hear you still had an alright time.

Zeli Airport is a small little airport. I don't know if they use it as an airport still or not. We have many little ones around the area. Latrobe (Arnold Palmer Regional) Airport is the next biggest in the area from Pittsburgh. Northwest Airlines just started flying into it this week...it is like 1 mile from my house. It is a good hour or hour and a half depending on traffic and the way you prefer to go to get to the Pittsburgh Airport. Depending on what airline you prefer, I can advise you more on what airport you want to fly into. There are more rental car places in Pittsburgh Airport, obviously, if you want a rent-a-romper for the weekend. But, flying into Arnie Palmer might be cheaper for you. I can take care of you once you get there. Hotels are reasonable in the area but of course we will be staying at the official Teck hotel even though we live only a few hours, if that, away from the goings-on.

PM me if you want more help or whatever. You can fly into APRA, get a car, follow us out to the events and then follow us home, drop off your car, and fly out of APRA if that is the cheapest airline for you. Southwest is a real bargin and they fly into Pittsburgh. Our hotel is really close to the airport too. You have alot of options.

if anyone is flying in, the PGH International airport is the way to go, its literly 5 min from the Holiday Inn and they have a FREE shuttle service for hotel guests.

the dress code for the clubs is STRICT!! YOU MUST HAVE A BUTTON-DOWN COLLAR SHIRT, DRESS PANTS, DRESS SHOES. dress to impress is the best i can say. no tennis shoes, no baggy jeans, no hats, NO T-SHIRTS. must be 21+. if u have never been to a real "Night Club" before, you need to ask someone who has !!!

i was wondering if the under 21 crowd might want to have our own unofficial event somewhere during the nights while the boozers are keeping busy. hey some of the full nude strip clubs are under 21! :D i'm sure if we got a group together we could get a decent itinerary made up for some fun. racing, women, food... you know all the necessities. the more people we get the more resources we'll have and that means MORE MISCHIEF. :evil:

actually, if it was at the light near the south entrance of northway mall i think i did. if i looked upset it's because my ignition system was (and still is) messed up and my msd parts aren't here yet :sad: but you had apillar gauges right? you pulled out like a grandma too so i assumed you're having mechanical issues as well? haha love your car though, totally drifter style :thumbs: i almost bought a 240 out of cincy with an sr20 already dropped in it, but the rest of the car was just in too bad shape to justify what he was asking so i passed on it once i got out there. do you know a kid named tim with a red 240sx w/ sr down at pitt, or a kid named jesse with a grey pignosed w/ sr?
