View Full Version : 1996 Neon vs. 1995 Mazda Protege
I was coming back up to Philly from Baltimore last night (Saturday night) and I was trying to make it up for a party, so I was driving about 100 on 695. I passed this Mazda Protege, around a 1995 year model. He had rims and exhaust, but that's all I could see. We both got onto 95 and we both gunned it. He was even with me......never. I kept slowing down and letting him pass, and then I'd shift down and blow by him. My car's not all that fast, but his car was terribly slow. It topped out about 105 or so. Mine tops out about 125.
The really bad part about driving 125 on 95 was it was pouring down rain because of hurricane Charley. The only reason the other car kept up with me is because he was driving a lot crazier than I was. I wasn't cutting people off too close like he was, but I did drive on the shoulder once.

Don't get too cocky behind the wheel.

you know, I was doing something similar to a guy in a new V6 accord a few months ago.. kinda funny.. and thankfully the guy thought so as well, but some people just don't think shit like that is funny.. So choose your battles wisely.

werd...I once was taking a look at this guys car from the inside of my work (he parked in front of our work window) and he came in and started cussing at me and what not. I guess it could have been because I was talking to his girlfriend also lol....but it was about his car so whatever. Luckily my friend who I was working with was a buff army guy who got in the guys face and he walked away. Seeing how I am only 5'7", 120lbs lol.

well, I take comfort in knowing that if someone wants to try and screw with me, all i gotta do is Downshift and go... but every once in a while I run into a car that I can't beat and that kinda thing scares me cause I can't get away from them if they're not happy with me. In person, I'm 6'4", but skinny, I'm a runner. Fast as hell too, but if some one gets ahold of me, I know all the little choke holds and pressure points and submission holds and all that good stuff that all those years of Army Infantry and Riot control training gave me.

What the hell? I'm all for having fun and such, but if it's heavy rain and traffic 125 just doesn't make sense. Not trying to flame you or anything, I just don't see the logic.
Nice kill, though!
Fastest I've gone in rain was like 105... but that was b/c the top was down and it started to pour. Didn't get wet till I took an exit to pull into a gas station. ;)
Ok. Everyone made me feel like shit for driving fast in the rain...I'm sorry. :frown:
