View Full Version : DC/MD Drift Showoff
Sup guy/gals,
I attended this event and it was good on most part.
The drifting event was great. Like seeing rubber and smoke in you face and meeting the teckteam as well as Playboy model :D
The show part, not so good aleast where the euros are concerened.
Too make long story short. The judges decided to eliminate the euro class because one car showed up and didn't eliminate the domastic class where there was one car in that class. When I confronted the officals, they said there has to be at least 6 cars to compete in each class in ordered to be judged. Well, there weren't 6 cars in any class, but decided to give out awards. After short time passed they realized they had made a mistake  and decided to cover it up by giving out the trophy to the euro car, but no cash prize. I think that was unacceptable judging and that was probably the worst part off the show.

I thought in car shows u compete for the trophy and respect, not for the cash. You can thank the poor weather conditions the previous night for scaring the majority of the show cars away. The Euro guy got his trophy, to me that would have been satisfying enough.
And to echo ProMSL's comment, everyone was there for the drifting, not the car show.
Well guys it is a new sport. So yes maybe most people where their for the drifting. But people like TAS who spend many hours and cash to make their cars beautiful also would like to reap the rewards for doing just that. The cash helps to subsidize all the overhead that went into building it.
I really enjoyed the drifting. The ride alongs were very cool. And we did get a pretty good crowd out there. To bad for the rain that scared allot of people though. Even if it didnt.

the drifting was awesome, It was great to see the pros out there in AWESOME fashion, going EXTREMELY fast down that parking lot
I had a great time, and all the video that we got, especially OFF the Falken cars, looks GREAT.

you can't see it in that pic, but the best thing about his car I think is how he has a large black ching pao on his carbon hood. Makes it look like it is a metal ching with carbon around it.
You guys missed the point. It's not about the trophy. Its about respect and also what Gio said. They totally over looked the euro class. Well enough said.

If you look really hard, you can see it.

got a host? I got some video (about 50MB) that I edited just now, nothing special, just was looking through the 5+ hours that we have, and threw something quick together.
If you want a better resized pic of the Teck silvia let me know and I'll resize it the right way, not a pixel resize from Photobucket.
