Thanks guys, it really needs a larger converter(4500) and a set of deeper gears to operate like it wants to for drag purposes, but the nitrous will solve allot of that when i go ahead and install the 150 plate kit.

Nice third gen the 5.3 swaps are getting more common for obvious reasons. The emblem you added is just a Firebird/Trans Am emblem, looks right at home though.

Wasnt sure the origin of it, a friend gave it to me and i had it for years, so now it was time to use it i figured.
I was originally going to do a 76mm rear mount turbo on this car for a nasty street ride that could run hard, but since i gave up street racing, i figured i will beef up the rear end and make it a nitrous drag car.

^ Yup, same emblem is on my 94 T/A. It honestly looks better on yours. :thumb:

looks damn good!
Rear mount on the 3rd gen was a big headache when I did one for a customer ... it was on the L98 though ... the chassis just wasn't easy to route the piping under like the 4th gen

You prolly had the same issue people that want true dual exhaust run into...ground clearance, she just wasnt made for more that one 3"+ pipe to be under there, how did the STS build turn out?

I have true duals on my 89 RS with the 6.0, i had to make a custom trans crossmember and it worked pretty well, if i wanted to lower the car it would be a nightmare.

I ran a custom Mufflex/Spintech system on my 82 that I just got rid of:bigcry: 3 1/2" to 4" Y pipe, 4" intermediate pipe, then a Spintech 4" in/Dual 3 1/2" out. Sounded really good with the Big Muthr Thumpr Cam

Any sound clip? Mine is just the shorty headers with 3 inch collectors i welded on, then 3 inch to a single 3 inch I pipe, into a bullet dumped. Love the way this thing sounds.

This was the best we could do without having to redesign the crossmember/etc. ... this was a LS1 with carburator setup

not the best setup, but that's what he wanted

That looks pretty clean and straight forward, any clearance problems?

My 86 in the post has a nice Y under the TH400 and plenty of ground room, but the 6 speed in the 89 RS with t e6.0 was a headache till i made a X member, not it is doable but i could never get away with lowering it.

eh it looks to be a drag car any way so lowering it would surely hurt your E.T's. 1/4 mile cars need some suspension movement especially on that all important launch, that way all your cars weight shifts to the rear, pushes down on the rear tires, wrinkles them up and gives you a nice snap off the line. Are you using a stock torque arm or no?

No, both cars are full rear suspension, the 89 RS with the 6.0 does not squat at all, the LCARBs angle so that it plants the tires, the rear might go down a slight touch, but watching the video, it just yanks the tires off the ground and rolls out:
