To badge or to debadge?

I have debadged the car, but I hear people, current AMG and non AMG owner, say that now the car lookslike an E320 that has been debadged, thus losing some of the status that the E55 generates.

I'm kinda in between myself. I like the debadged look, but then again, I like to let people know what's up I'm more into the debadged look however.

You're not racing anyone for money, nor are you showing your car...what is the reason to debadge other than to turn a $75K car into a $39K car? Not that I'm saying the price of someones car matters, but an AMG badge seperates you from the rest, IMO. (get that FUCKING AMG plate frame off!!)

On an E320 i'd debadge it just for that reason, to make people wonder. With your car, you shouldn't want them to wonder. You have a freaking E55 show that off!!

i think i could tell the difference between a debadged 320 and a 55.
i have thought about this before too cuz i was looking at a few 55's a little bit ago. My friends kept asking me if i would debadge it like i did my 320. I said i thought i would just because its not a 600 or 65...and it really doenst matter to me what someone THINKS my car is. but if its someone that needs to know...let them try and keep up. I do look at it from the 320 up but i have tried to put myself in the 55 down and i dont think i would change just becuse it says 55.

If you like the debadge look then strip it, you are already driving a benz; who cares what someone driving a toyota thinks it is....that leaves the only other car guys left to impress are other benzs owners...then I guess if your worried about your image then keep the badge but if not who gives a shit its ur ride....a debadge benz does look smooth...

I will never agree with, nor understand the debadging process. I think it's for people with cheap cars that want to make people think they might have have the more expensive model, but not the other way around :crazy: If you want a clean car, fucking wash it, a little f'in badge makes no difference!

I do have an e320 debadged....but i am not in any way or have i ever tried to be a e55. the only other thing i have done to the ext apperience is wheels...which i put the biggest possable on that will rub all my shit up if i try and race around. i go 2 miles an hour so everyone can see me, hahaha... jk

anyway...i was thinking about this last night for some phuck reason and i decided that the reason i like no badge is it looks clean and symmetrical. And one thing that the amg 55's have going for them is they are still symmetrical just not so clean with e55 on one side and amg on the other...not like mine which made it not clean looking and not symmetrical since i had nothing on the other side. i do like the idea of blacking the badges out though...

Dont worry I hit a patch of ice and went into a retaining wall at like 15mph, cracked my front bumper, and it eventually lead to my driveshaft failing... That happened on jan 26th... My car went in March 1st and its sitting at the body shop still... if you read the thread I started in the ML55 and ML forums at MBW youll see what kinda headache its been... body shop taped my wheel flairs on...

dont be going to ghetto mexican shops man! The right AMG is glossy black, and the left is non glossy. My paint is obsidian black (mettalic) but the emblems are flat black. You really cna't tell the difference betweent he two badges, nor can you tell the diff, w/ the car paint. It's a good blend :) From afar, you dont see badges, and 2ft away you do.

thats the thing it wasnt a ghetto shop, this was an actual mercedes authorized body shop, services 6 different dealerships(mercedes, Audi, acura, toyota, etc etc). But it was an Mercedes Collision repair facility, never again am I going there... I tore them a new one... they realigned everything, epoxied my fenders back on, fixed the fog lights(i think), got the rear bumper to match, and for my troubles are going to give me a free detail(I think this translates to a car wash with vacum, lol)

So what your saying is that basically NO ONE is gonna get close enough to you to see what your driving but you will have them there to have em, lol
