I've been looking into the whole sound bar idea, something to better the already pretty damn good sound that comes out of my tv without having to setup the multi-speaker surround sound thing. This is just another log to the already burning idea fire.

Pretty good for when space is limited or when you just don't need a bajillion speakers everywhere. We use a 5.1 set up in the living room but in my room I have two speakers on either side of my monitor going through a receiver. A sound bar wouldn't be a bad idea. I've never played with one though so I don't actually know if they're any good but I think they would be. And I do like the way that one looks.

I think Bob has a soundbar setup. I never tried a soundbar setup out before, but if it's pretty close to surround sound without the speakers everywhere, then I'm game. My tv does a pretty damn good job with sound, but it could always use a boost.

i have a 3.1 setup, so front sides + center at my TV, and then i have subwoofers up against the back of my couch so they shake the whole thing, lol

i like it too much to go small, i prefer suond that comes from bigger speakers, regardless of the quality of smaller ones, they just sound smaller

Omg...thank you sylon!!! I've been looking for a good sound bar and had no idea they made one specifically for the ps3. Definitely getting this when it comes out.

No $200 speaker solution is going to make you happy IMO. It might be louder than the TV speakers, but in the end, you're still lacking the good definition that only BETTER setups can deliver. There are plenty of small two channel 'surround sound' solutions out there, but they cost more money for a reason. Personally, I use Bose Companion 5 2.1 speakers on my PS3 in my office, and a 120W per channel 7.1 surround sound Yamaha with Boston Acoustic speakers in my living room where I have another PS3. I prefer gaming on the Bose setup simply because of the fidelity. The Boston Acoustics are OK, but I plan on selling my Yamaha and getting a full Bose Lifestyle setup in the living room, and multi-rooming the audio to my Kitchen and back deck.

Anyway... I'm a fan of good audio, and would recommend springing for a more expensive system like a Bose 3.2.1 or maybe even on of Sony's similar products, it's just more up market.

A sound bar is perfect for my situation because my ps3 is in my bedroom so I don't need a huge setup, but at the same time, I would like some more kaboom :p

I dont want a super loud setup to wake my land lords up that live below me. I yell and curse at the tv too much as it is, lol.

I saw it at bestbuy and it actually sounds pretty decent for a sound bar.

That being said... I'm seriously considering canning everything I have - my yamaha reciever, definitive speakers, MASSIVE entertainment center, the Cerwin Vega RE series speakers I have sitting around, and more in order to pick up the Bose VideoWave TV.. it's simply incredible what that thing does. If you live anywhere near a Bose store, go see the VideoWave demo. It'll blow you away.
