why is it that alota new cars have plastic valve covers, eww u can't see the engine, can someone explain this concept to me :confused:

I think you are referring to engine covers if you are talking about a large 1 piece plastic that covers the majority of the engine bay over top of the engine to give off this sleek and neat appearance. And that is what it is there for, appearance. This is usually done on higher-end luxury cars that have a larger ownership base who has their automotive work performed at the dealership/garage.

It is not a valve cover, it is simply a valve cover's cover... It improves the engines appearance and provides a heat shield for preventative safety. You can see the engine just as well without a plastic cover... the only difference is the material...
