PS3 fan has started to sound A LOT!

Like 10 min after i start to play on my PS3 the fan starts to sound loud as F, it hasn't done this before other than a few times when it has been on for like 15h strait, have not moved it or anything.

Does anyone have this problem?

Does anyone know whats wrong with it?

Did you upgrade your HDD? If you did it's probably the faster HD and not the fan.

No haven't done that yet, but if it is the old one that sounds maybe its time for an upgrade lol

but it really sounds like a fan, like something cant keep cool anymore so the fan goes of on full speed as a result :dunno:

Make sure the fan is clean of any dust. Dust build up, especially where the motor connects to the fan, will cause the fan to make noise.

What i can see its über clean, do you mean take it apart and clean it?

I wouldnt recommend taking it apart. Try asking on the PS3 forums, maybe others have had the same issue.

what model is your ps3 I remember reading some original 80gb ps3s the fans can get loud over time. www.us.playstation.com is your best bet for those types of things but be careful a lot of bogus claims as well

i got mine when the 40 gig ones came out, but i have tried to move it now to a more open space and shall test it today and see if it works
