From the ones listed already I like 'Smokey and the bandit' and 'The Blues brothers' the best.

Definately the Blues Brothers... They must have used about 50 police cars and destroyed about 90% of them...

You missed some. Like Ronan, especially the part where they were going against traffic on the Paris freeway for more than 2 minutes. And it was all real, not CG like the Matrix Reloaded (that one was good to, but once i saw the behind the scenes on some of the bike manuevers having traffic being CGed in there, it dropped down on the list).

Somebody said Bullitt. That was good. The new Italian Job was decent to, if not just a blatant Mini advertisement. I haven't seen the original Italian Job so I can't comment either way on it except to say that the ppl I know who have seen it think its better than the new one.

The Bourne Identity had a good low budget car chase, as did The Bourne Supremacy (minus the low budget). Those were all real, no CG car chases as well. Out of those two, The Bourne Supremacy car chase thru Moscow was better. Pure Demolition Derby, and a fine advertisement to show how much hell a $100,000 Mercedes SUV and a ZIL taxi cab can go thru.

I think Vanishing Point is the best chase movie of all time. And Two Lane Blacktop is the best street racing movie of all time.
