I have to adjust it a little to make it more symetrical but I think it looks pretty decent. Next thing I plan to do is get a bigger version of the chaos star on my bumber.

small update

I washed, clay bar, and waxed it for the first time. I've never tried using a clay bar but I was shocked how much better the paint looked and felt even though my car is still reletivly new. Sorry, no pics for now of it since I can't find anywhere good to shoot it.

I also put brighter lights in the dash and HVAC controls so now I can actually read them at night. Also I took the blue film out from my odometer that the PO put in so now that is brighter and back to green.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i13/FHUCK666/AUTO/IMG_0002-2.jpg

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i13/FHUCK666/AUTO/IMG_0004-1.jpg

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i13/FHUCK666/AUTO/IMG_0015-2.jpg

The dash and HVAC are now as bright as my boost gauge so now everything matches a little better too. And before I could only read my odometer at night since it was so dim.

Next I'm waiting for a new ignition coil to come to see if that solves my misfire/starting problem.

Thank you guyz. Just put the the new coil on today and no check engine lights yet so hopefully it solved my problem.

What kind of coil? My MSD was a POS. The stock coil cleared all my issues.

FHUCK666
07-02-2009, 08:06 PM
ya I just got another new oem one. I replaced the plugs about 4k miles ago and the wires withen the last 1k. If the coil was replaced it would've been before I got the car so I think that may be the problem.

nice car

07-03-2009, 06:45 AM
I was replacing the plugs every 8 to 10k miles. Champions are cheap (like $11 for the set at the dealer, less in some other places) I had them gapped EXTREMELY close to help compensate for the high boost on the stage 1 injectors

FHUCK666
07-04-2009, 12:23 AM
I forgot what kind of plugs I have in there now. But after driving it for a couple days everything seems normal. Of course now that I say that its probably going to misfire again.

thanks joel

I want to say I had the plugs at .032 or .035
can't remember

FHUCK666
07-04-2009, 05:26 PM
well just as I thought, another misfire so now I'm trying some different plug wires to see if that does it.

This whole misfire issue started after I seafoamed it, do you have any ideas what may have happened? If I did it wrong it would've been because maybe I sucked it through the vacuum line too slow but I didn't think that would've done anything bad. I've gone through the tank of gas that I added the seafoam to.

I'll have to see what kind of plugs I have and what they're gapped to. My brother already had them gapped when he gave them to me so IDK.

l3it3r
07-05-2009, 10:11 AM
oh, pull 'em. it's definitely the plugs. Easy and free.

FHUCK666
07-05-2009, 10:47 PM
well before I read ur post I got another miss so I've already taken your advice and have some plugs on order.

FHUCK666
07-08-2009, 03:40 PM
new plugs are in, still got a misfire, now that I basically got a brand new ignition system, I think it might have somthing to do with the injectors

edit- forgot to add that I got new tires, continental sport contact 3 bsw. It's been raining so I can't really compare with my last tires

l3it3r
07-08-2009, 06:04 PM
what did you gap the plugs to? I had to get mine STUPID low.. what boost level are you running as well?

FHUCK666
07-08-2009, 08:43 PM
I did them at .045. the manual says do it at .050 and my brother said he did them around .040 when he had his srt so I just did it around the middle. I'm peaking at about 15 psi and it then holds steady at about 13 psi.

after searching around a little I found this

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f25/p0304-cylinder-4-misfire-again-393703/

he found out that one of the valves was sticking apparently so the dealer ended up replacing the head and some other parts.

I'm thinking that this might be my problem. we have a similar amount of miles, both getting #4 misfires even with new wires and plugs. also we both get the misfire within the first couple minutes of a cold start.

the problem is that he was under warrenty and I'm not. luckily there is a how-to on the srt forums for taking the head off but I'm going to try and diagnose it more myself and other people before I start ripping things apart

Before you go into that madness, just TRY to gap the plugs a bit lower. .04, maybe even .038

FHUCK666
07-09-2009, 11:47 PM
ya I'll try anything I can before diving into something like that. I really appreciate your help though, pulling the head is the last thing I want to do.

I had some HORRIBLE backfire/misfire crap going on for a while. I did everything I could to counter act it. New Coil, new wires, new walboro 255, new map clamp, even tried taking the Stage 1 back off.. After spending all that money on all that crap, I finally decided to take out the iridium plugs I had in there and check the gap. They were all over the place. I tosesd them and got some Copper Champs, gapped them at like .034 or something crazy stupid tight and the mis was gone.

Upped the boosted all the way to a 19psi hold and held on for dear life :D

I also had some RIDICULOUS measures against boost leak. Every line, valve and even the AGP BOP was double checked for boost leaks. I had an AGP BOP with a copper flash AND the mopar BOV for added stability (the AGP BOP alone will bend and leak).

Anyway, good luck :D

FHUCK666

well I gapped them at .040 and threw a code right away. I tried it at .035 and so far nothing. It has a pending misfire right now from being at .040 so basically when it misses again, it'll turn on the CEL. Since it only misfires on cold starts I will probably know definetly tomarrow after it has been sitting overnight

FHUCK666
07-11-2009, 07:52 PM
got another light this morning, gapping it down that far did make my car pop a little more than normal so it sounds cooler. I will probably put it back to .040 though and then start scratching my head trying to figure out what to do next

havn't updated this in awhile. My whole misfire problem turned out to be from a clogged fuel filter. So that has been changed and now for the most part everything is fine. I havnt really done anything else to it since then. The only thing worth talking about is my windshield getting smashed on Christmas Eve from a chunk of ice flying at me.

thats all fixed now though
