What made you want to become apart of Teckademics?

Hey fam,
For me it all started when I went to another site, I sort of got shitted on by some of the other members. When I stepped into the Teck ring, I got mad love. I also love the fact that Teck isn't all about that Dumb ricer bull shit. You know, that make your car look like something fast, but it really isn't. It's all about performance, the right way. If you have a question than you know that someone will try to answer it to the best of their knowledge. If you've come to this site and you feel like you don't know anything about cars, than don't be afraid to ask questions. There is no such thing as a dumb question if you're serious about it. Plus, when you become apart of Teck, you become apart of a family. We respect those that want to be respected by showing respect to others. Another great thing about this site is that no one see's themselves as being better than the rest. Some of your favorite people from the Dvd's will sometimes pop in and out, and might even write you.

If you're a new member to this site, and you have a chance to read this, than you have made a grand choice. I am proud to say that I represent such a company through my everyday life, and as time progresses so will you.

Okay so here's my story, I'm 16 and going back to California to visit my sister and meet her boyfriend. I was just getting in to cars at the time.
As I'm heading toward their condo I notice a mercedes with a wing on it (I was sort of confused at the time). Anyway, I walk into the condo and I'm greeted by this crazy lookin guy who turns out to be super chill. Yay, i'm late as hell posting in this thread. I found the Teckademics website one day and put in my e-mail address for e-mail updates and stuff because it looked cool. I later saw Mischief 3000 at Hollywood Video and got it. After watching it, I fell in love with the Mischief movies and joined DTMPower.net because I saw Dado in the movie. Then, a couple months after I registered there, I started posting in the Teck section, and here we are.

the night after my b-day, i went to best buy to some dvd's, i first saw the mischief dvd and it looked cool so i got it. the next day i went back and got 3000, and now i am on the teckademics web site every week waiting for the next to come ouf and i allways order them befor they come out so i can brag to all my friends. someone told me about RRU and there and a couple of days later the teck east forum opened and ever since it has been about the only board i go on.

This is how I got into Teckademics...
Originally I heard vague comments about some group in DC doing some cool car stuff and how they participated in Cannonballs. It never really registered in my head, kinda went in one ear and out the other. Well flash forward maybe a year or so...im lurking around the forums on DragVA.com (I lurked for a while b4 actually joining the forums and posting) and I see Ian (posts as Redcoat) cross-post the Mischief Invasion Premiere Party on the forums. So I figure why not roll down. I show up, shoot the shit w/ L3it3r and ProMSL who both also showed up early. So I roll down w/ the convoy to MIR, and I line up to race. Well, as luck would have it I get lined up against Ian. So we both race down the track, with him beating me. After I park my car and let the car cool off, being the sportsman that I am I went and found him and shook hands w/ him for a good race. I then asked him about how I could find out more about Teck, and he pointed me to the Teck forums on DTMPower. I laid back for a few days seeing how everyone acted on the forums before joining up. I also went and bought Invasion, thought it was great (I fell out of the chair laughing my ass off during the Battle of the Rentals)

After being active on the forums, Gio posts up what was then the new Teck/IV meet spot. So one night I roll down there...Dado, Gio, and Dustin are all there kicking back and shooting the shit. So I join in on a few conversations w/ them and introduce myself. I keep going to the meets, becoming a regular. After having more convos w/ Gio and D&D at the meets I really liked how these guys were laid back and didn't think they were above everybody else like other ppl who are successful in tv and movies.

It started for me with the original mischief. I watched that and i wast stunned. At the time I didn't know much about anything so i was like cool, cool. After they started comming out with more i was like yeah, seems interesting. Went onto the forums and dtm got a lot of love and welcome and instantly started to help with the army. It was a great choice to join, and i don't regret any moment of it. Also it was cool to finally meet Dustin and Funk Master Flex and a bunch of teck people at SEMA in AC. Wish i could have stayed for the drift contest after though, but hey shit happens.

Ok ok, heres my real story as to why I joined Teckademics.

I was in the store one day after watching, Yeah I know, After watching 2F2F, and I went to the special Interest section in the store that I worked at (Best Buy). Back then I didn't know shit about cars. I only knew that when Fast and the Furious came out, I was hooked. Later on I found out the real story about the lifestyle, so 2f2f can eat a dick for all I care. Anyway, I was looking for some ol' ricer crap like that movie, and I came across Mischief. I saw the cover and thought, man o man this might be just like the movie (Fast and the Furious), so I bought it. Turns out that this thing was nothing like it. I was hooked when I saw Dustin talking about how they were going to run from the cops by jumping the sidewalk and running from the cops. That's it. I remember saying "Oh Shit", loud enough where my mother "A female Pastor" heard me say it. I knew then that I had to be down with such a cool group of people. I dont know as much as I should now, but hopefully one day I will. I figured that the guys and (gals) should have someone like me around to chill with. From then on, I went back and bought every other movie by Teckademics. Later on Invasion came out, that really made me want to get more involved. So one day I was brave enough to come to the site and join, praying that the guys wouldn't call me a lamer and try to flame me. Everything worked out. As a newbie on that other site, I ended up flaming some other kat, which made my presence known. Flaming is bad m'kay, so don't try it on here, they'll ban you. Til this day, I am known by most of the people on here, and If I don't know you, make an effort to get to know me. I'm the coolest friend you'll ever have.

I was at Circuit City two years ago. I had been in to cars for a while, and wanted to further expand my car DVD collection. So I saw Mischief 3000, looked over the package, and it looked many times better than any "Midnight Street Racing". With the other car DVDs, all you get is street races. Camera follows the cars, goes back to the starting line, and repeats. I bought 3000 and was hooked. I bought the original Mischief soon after...the auto abuse hooked me even more. Then I got Destroy when it came out. I bought Invasion about a month after it arrived in stores...I was chilling in study hall one day when I went over to the Teck site and saw it. Now, it's awesome to be a part of, imo, the greatest street racing culture company (not sure of the official title lol) in the world. Can't wait for Bimmerfest NYC to see everyone. :D Thanks to Dustin, Sean, Dado, Gio...even the guys in the UK, like Rob....for making the best auto DVDs ever. :D

These are awesome stories guys. Thanks. Sean and I took a chance and put Mischief on the market. It was so raw and it wasn't like other movies. I threw a bunch of video clips that I had collected over the years and put music to them. It was a success. Perfect timing too. I graduated from the Arts Institute of Pittsburgh in Dec. 1999 hoping to become a director in LA. I wanted to direct action movies. It never happened. You need to know people to get anywhere in Hollywood. After graduating, I moved back home to Maryland and worked at Terminix with a friend for 8 months. That wasn't fun. Crawling under houses looking for signs of Termite damage sucked ass. I quit and got a job at a duplication house. It was a job related to the movie industry but it still sucked. Unloading and loading 1000 VCRs was so boring. I was stuck in that hell hole for a year and a half before I met Sean. Mischief blew up and I was able to quit my crappy job and work on the Mischief series full time. That was over 2 years ago. I can't believe that I am working on Mischief V. Time flies. School and a lot of patience paid off.

Again, the Mischief series would not be as sucessful if it wasn't for our fans and supporters and I thank you guys for that.

You are right. I never phsyically met Sean until after Gumball 3000. It was all about trust. We did all our business over the phone and had never seen each other until the end of Gumball. It's rare to have that kind of trust nowadays.

bour 3years ago i was watching a TV show on the BBC and it was about this thing called the gum ball rally! the second time it was run! (london - russia - london) i had never hurd of it so i stuck a take in and recorded it! couple of days later i went round my mates (this guy is SOOOOOOOO obsenely rich its untrue! he lives in a castle, a propped huge castle with like 40 bedrooms and a draw bridge the lot his dad died and left millions and his mum is the CEO of some HUGE european company anyway) i stook the take in and we watched after it he said we gotta do that! i said well its in america next year! we got together the £8000 entry fee, bought a vauxhall vectra 2.5 V6 had a super charger fitted and scraped the last of our cash together for speeding fines and then my mate took the vectra away for a weekend of testing before we shiped it to the US! a day and a half later i got a phone call from him saying hi! im in scotland! the vectra is dead! the guy he had got to fit the super charger hadnt set up the fuel right and the engine was gone! the car needed to be on the ferry the next day! and we had no more money! so had to pull out! i was and still am devistated! anyway since then iv been realy in to the gumball and im going to do it, but im waiting untill i get my BMW 840 or my tuscan (iv seen a realy nice one forsale for £16,000 not far from my house), anyway im round my mates house (the guy with the accord V6 in the photography section) and he had just got back from florida and he had mischief! saw it and loved it! i got loads of lil videos off the net in the following year or so the ones there you are all out for a cruise about with the NSX and the MR2 and the BM's and so on! loved them! just thoughts wow that looks cool! was on the teckademics site the other day and sent an E-mail to the co. saying love your stuff im a big fan! first thing the next morning (sunday) i had a reply saying thanks for the e-mail join the forum and say HI! so i did!

i cant say ho weard it is to have spent the last 18months thinking how mint you guys are (i love that yellow M3 i think its dados right?????) and thinking how cool dustin and reza look on mischief 3000 to now be talking to you lot aspecialy as your all out in the US and im stuck here in sunny England lol! its very strange! anyway i joind the forum as instructed and you lot all seem spot on and theres no flaming which there is on almost all UK sites!

Would always be sure to say hey to me at a show when he saw my car there, and has always been just a nice guy to drop a line to. Well I first got to hang (really hang) with the Teck Crew at Bimmerfest East. They were definitely a fun bunch and it was surprising how down to earth they are, despite the success of the Mischief DVD's. It's also fun watching people scream "OMG IT'S DADO" and spend money on a permanent marker at a local gas station so that Dado, Dustin, and Gio can sign a shirt for them... and even funnier how they waited 15 minutes for Dustin to come back from hurling behind the convenience store.

lol I had my one bit of fame too a while back... 2002, I was at a benz meet, and this kid saw my car and came up to my sister who went with me. He went "is this The Doctor's car? (my sn then was DR. ///AMG). And she said yeah. He goes "OMG, is it ok if I take a picture of it?" Eventually he found me, and he went "wow, you're Dr. ///AMG!! It's so nice to finally meet you."

well, it all started out when matty stuffed me in RichP's trunk at one of the NJ BMW meets. Tom took pictures, and they all decided it would be funny to turn the car on, and start backing out of the parking spot... oh, and turn the subs on... and yea, the emergency release in the trunk doesn't work very well. it turned the lights on, and that's about it :p haha

I saw Mischief, then Mischief 3000, then Mischief Destroy, then Mischief Invasion. That was all it took for me to hunt down the forum. When I found it I lurked for a while so I could get a feel for the forum. I must say that this is possibly the best group I have ever had the chance to interact with online. I would love to get to some of the shows, but being the apparent sole in MS on the site is the major downfall.

My current goal is to get enough together to go on Cannonball Canada.
