Has anybody ever heard of this or participated in it. One of my buddies is trying to talk me into going in on a car for this.

It is great fun but make sure and read the rules, when we did it you had to have at least 4 drivers and each driver has a couple hundred $ entry fee so it is more than just the $500 shatbox and travel. I say this cause it caught me off guard when I did it with friends 2 years ago.
Other than that it is just about the most fun a group of friends can have. We used an old Fiero with the "iron duke" 4cyl in it and unfortunatly it lost all brakes and blew the head gasket in the 14th hour. I definitely plan on doing another one once I get the money and time.

That looks awsome. I would love to do this! No races is FL though. Guess I'll have to travel or see if they have any plans to come to Moroso, sorry, PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY (The track that TopGear visited although now millions of dollars newer)

Shit.. that looks like a lot of fun! You're looking at like $500 car, $500 entry fee + $100 per driver and if you have like 2-3 additions to the team, that's $40 to $75 a piece... so.. about $1700 +/- total.

I am all for it if anyone needs a co-driver!! Especially you Mr.Wild since your so close. Actually a friend of mine here would probably join in as well.
Whats also neat is you can get your temp license at the track to drive as well.
So now its just a matter of what would be the best car for <500 bucks??

AH!! The trick is that tires, brakes and safety equipment do not count towards that $500.

I figured the safety equipment (Roll cage, race seat, etc) didn't count, but it's good to know the tires & brakes don't either!!
Ya know..................... Token did just get that MR2 for $200.....LMAO
