Minneapolis' Liquid 8 Records prides itself as a union of diversity and talent. On August 8th, 2004, the label will add motion picture soundtracks to its multifariousness with the release of Mischief Invasion. The official soundtrack for the fourth entry in Teckademics' best-selling and chart-topping (as confirmed by both Billboard and Video Store magazines) Mischief film series, Mischief Invasion harnesses the high octane, manic energy of the popular street racing film. The trailer for the film is viewable here.

Coordinating the music for the soundtrack is none other than rock band Fear Factory's drummer Raymond Herrera via Herrera Productions, his own company founded to supply music and sound effects to films and videogames. Fear Factory (on a headlining tour this summer) is no stranger to the world of film soundtracks, as the band's music has been featured on such blockbuster hits as Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Freddy Vs. Jason and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Herrera approached Teckademics to create a soundtrack for Mischief Invasion, for as successful as the films are; no soundtrack was ever released for any of the movies. Awestruck by the wild antics contained in the film, Herrera had to be involved, as he says that "watching people break the rules in real life is actually a lot of fun." Likening the film to "the Cannonball Run of 2004," Herrera was immediately inspired and collected an assortment of cutting edge and innovative artists to compose full-throttle material for the soundtrack; some of whom whose work had previously appeared on the Emmy-winning series Sex In The City and the films XXX and National Security. Herrera and Fear Factory guitarist Christian Olde-Wolbers also composed four tracks for the release; in addition to including a new remix of the band's new single "Archetype," the title track to their latest Billboard-charting album.

Mischief Invasion, the film, consists of a European street race, starting in the UK, and continuing through Spain, France and Africa, before returning to the UK in only 5 days. The rally was filmed using the high-tech Autoxcam system, which puts the viewer in the driver's seat and in the middle of all the chaos. The film also features street racing appearances by pro-skaters Josh Kalis and Kerry Getz. Automobile Magazine said of the film, "All of the thrills and consequences of high-speed street racing are covered, right down to the firsthand accounts of arrests and crashed exotics...automotive hooliganism at its finest."

Herrera Productions brings a wealth of experience to capturing the road raging energy of racing to the film, having provided music and effects for such videogames as Carmageddon (for PC), Test Drive 5 and 6 (for PC, PlayStation and Dreamcast), Demolition Racer (for PlayStation), Test Drive Off Road Wide Open (for PS2 and Xbox), RalliSport Challenge (for Xbox), and the forthcoming games Test Drive Crosstown (for PS2) and Gran Turismo 4 (for PS2, PC, Game Cube and Xbox). The Mischief Invasion soundtrack is designed to please adrenaline junkies and thrill-seekers everywhere. The furious cyber-rocking track listing consists of:

Man I went a picked up a copy today! Put it in the G after getting pumped watching the directors cuts. Put on song 2 (Invasion Intro) and went for a wild ride. Cool thing about it was I had the president of Rise Above with me at the time. I dropped him back and he was like ... Mannn Now I get it!

Experience it! It's a trip it's like your in the movie AWSOME!

It was hell at first I didn't know they stored it under "Fear Factory" so then I ran to Best Buy and they didn't have it, checked Warehouse and they didn't have it, checked even Fred Myers and they didn't have it. I was starting to get flustered when my girlfriend and I decided to run back to Warehouse and I couldn't find Fear Factory there so I asked and it turned out they were in a section just for heavy metal....then she found Fear Factory and from there its history =)
