what do u guys think of the automatic tranny

i have a escort and its an automatic. i like it, but ppl make fun of me cause i have a automatic. i would like to know what u guys think.

Automatic is great for long road trips, or city driving, but i personally can't stand it. I used to have an Auto V6 2001 Galant, and I hate driving that car. Then again, there are a few cars that I'll drive with an Auto.. ANY V8 or F/I mercedes, and my next car, the Dodge Magnum RT. FYI, both of my current vehicles are 5 speed.

Id say it depends on where/what you are driving. And if people make fun of you for something as stupid as that they need to get a life. Its just....stupid. Its your car. If you like it, keep it. If you dont like it, consider buying a new car or change the transm.

my mom doesnt want me to do the two big swaps (the engine and tranny) she thinks they are fine the way they are, so i have get around it, which i have, now adays ppl dont know it a auto unless i tell them, i added a boot and manual knob :P

Who gives a sh*t what they think. Like a few times I killed them and there manual cars people always come up to me and the first thing they see is a Automatic I always said to them: "HAHA you got beat by an Auto"

thats retarded... i wouldnt buy an auto ever again, but shit, i plan to get my girl one(if we get married)... that way we take her car on long trips :D

I no longer have the ability to drive an auto... every time I brake I try to hit the gas and brake at the same time... no clutch sucks, but I wouldn't worry about converting an Escort. I agree with Petar, just save that money for your next 5/6-speed vehicle.

i drive an auto i am planning on getting a manual, it really doesnt matter what you have, people are stupid when they are like oh thats gay its auto or whatever

I think automatics are great for just plain transportation and an easy ride. I personally prefer manuals because they don't limit you to anything, and they are much more fun.
