Doom 3...

I just started playing Doom3.. wow.. it's F-ing awesome.. Even though I could probably use a slightly more powerful Processor (only a 2.6GHz) and maybe a more powerful graphics card (radeon 9600XT), it still runs pretty well. Better than Halo did when it first came out for PC at least. Anyway, I had to take a break from playing it cause I was playing it with headphones on while my wife was watching tv and it was freaking me out.. the atmosphere is PERFECT and the sound effects are awesome.. I reccomend that you get this game ASAP. :wow:

This is a next generation FPS he's talking about, just came out.. very anticipated game, up there with halo 2.

I have a P4 1.5 w/ 1gb ram and FX5600, I'm running it at Medium quality and it's okayy... but I'd love to run it at 1600 on my 20" at High Quality... drool.

This game is tha shiat.

Im running it on p4 2,66 1 gb ram and gf4 4200. 800x600 at medium setting. Getting 30-60 fps. The game has too much of the same for my liking. Good game though.

I don't want to get it if it is just going to barely run right on my computer.

I got an XP 2200+ 512mb ram and ATI all in wonder 8500 DV.
I upgraded for this game, so I added 512 of ram for a total of 1gb, and got the ATI 9800 pro w/ 256mb. GAme runs at 800x600 on med/high, I forgot which, but it looks sick!

Think you should be able to run if at higher resolution. :) Just thought Id tell you :P That gfx card with 1 gb should be good. Dunno how many ghz that xp 2200 is.

it's 1.8ghz.

It kinda lags down a bit when there is heavy heavy action. But then I realized last night that I was running in single channel ddr instead of dual channel. I'll have to figure out how to set that up.

You could also try different settings for aa/aaf. Depends on what you like. I like higher resolution more than aa myself but thats just because Ive never been used to playing with it on ;) always too crappy gfx card.

You can't run it at High Detail, Doc. I'd say my comptuer is pretty jacked up and the game still lags when I start fighting with my machine gun. I couldn't even imagine the slow down when you run it at a higher resolution than 640.

I tried at 1600x to suit my monitor but lol, couldn't even walk around.

I run it at 1280X1024 on high quality
P4 2.6GHz
1GB Ram
Radeon 9600XT

running around 30-45 fps solid.

I was running it at Normal quality, on a much lower quality and it was SLOWER... :crazy:

Can you adjust shadows and individual detail levels of the different aspects of the game? I haven't messed around with the Video Settings that much.
