Soul seek owns. All others will kill your computer with adware.

I listen to rap, but I am probably the most eclectic person I know. I listen to anything modern. Country is the most limited of anything. I can't listen to depressing stuff. I listen to classical when I go to bed sometimes, or when I'm studying/doing HW. :screwy:

It's probably old news, but download the Dangermouse Grey Album songs. The Encore track is so nice IMO. If you can't find it, I'm on soulseek, or I can send it to you. Jay-Z pitched a beeyotch when he found out about it. For those who don't know, Jay-Z's Black Album was mixed with the Beatle's White Album, making The Grey Album. Pretty cool concept. And everyone that likes rap probably already knew all this. [paranoid]

Necro makes hot beats, but he should leave the rapping to the rest of the guys, IMO. Non Phixion is hot, I got all the solo albums too, but I don't think they even come close to the group albums when it comes to sounding good. Although Sabacs almbum has a few good tracks. But Jedi Mind Tricks is the shit, Violent by Design and Visions of Ghandi (two of their albums) remind me of old school Wu Tang, hot shit. Underground is much better than mainstream.

Oh, and I can't forget all the early 90s shit like Wu Tang, Das Efx, early Redman, The Roots, Nas.

Immortal Technique is sick, lots of political content. And a sick flow with good beats.

That song is a fucking amazing track. Classic

I will defend to the death that underground hip-hop always has been, and always WILL BE better than anything commercialized. When I say commercialized, I mean the 99% of music that is played on the radio. The artists/grounps that bust their ass to get to the top, and once they get there, they forget about their neighborhoods, families, and people that helped them get there. These are the same people who are flooding the TV, and magazines regularly. The public buys into the image of the artist are more concerned what they wore to the last award show, or what liqour they were drinking in their last video than what they have to say.

Perfect example: Most of the music from the "durrty souf" is about a dance step, the size of your rims, your grill (stupid concept), or a stupid pick-up line. When the stuff comes on in a club, we dance to it because dancing at most clubs is limited to grabbin somone, freakin with them for a bit, and taking them home. I can't say I've never done that, but as a bboy I have to endorse ACTUAL dancing to ACTUAL syncopated beats. I'm not just gonna beat up on the south. Its pretty much everything that hits the public ear. Right now the trendy stuff comes from the south, or Chicago. I personally tend to like the artists with more "northern" influence on their music, simply because its more creative. Lupe Fiasco, Mof Def, and Atmosphere are some names that come to mind as examples of creative and artistic artists. Search for ANY mix-tapes with them on them if your want to see what I'm talking about.

In the underground, lyrics arn't written because they're required to put something new out every X months, they're written about what people see, feel, and do everyday to really make you not only hear what they have to say, but feel what they feel. The beats are original and bring the music back to the artistic side of spectrum (Kanye West is the ONLY commercial artist who does that). I think of Jurassic 5, and DJ Format who have something to say, but can still push out tracks that are radio worthy. Its harder to track whos doing what in the Unerground because its pretty much tied to where they live, and whats going on in their world. When some mix-tapes come out you REALLY get to see these artists shine. Right now, most of us have heard Lupe Fiasco's "Kick Push" single. Its a story about him growing up as a black Skateboarder in Chicago. But "Kick Push 2" was a track released on mix-tape about 4/5 months ago in which he takes out the sugar coating and the hollywood image that people tried to give him for making it big, and re-tells the story in a much darker light, giving us vivid details about his family, his relationships, and his life growing up. I highly reccomend listening to Part 1, then part 2 back to back to see what I mean. If you can't find part 2, PM me and I can send it your way.

I'm really passionate about music that has a deeper message or purpose than just to make money. As far as I am concerned, tell it to me, dont sell it to me. When you really get down to the people behind the music, its easy to weed out who really puts their heart into the music, and that reflects on not only the lyrics, but the music and even the packaging of the albums.

alright alright.. i'll get this to a point where most of ya'll can understand me..

there are three different main groups of hiphop emcee'in for music in general.

you have horror-core hiphop which is along the lines of

necro
illbill
nonphixion
gortex
mr hyde
eminem

then you have poetical which is along the lines of

royce da 5'9
jehst
jlive
binary star
krs-one
little brother

and many more

then you have the famous typical/battle style of hiphop with is like

the demigods
apathy
celph titled
tame
copyright
skillz
sean price
cage
eminem
jedi mind tricks

and many more.

you have to remember that hiphop is not a form of music but a form of life and culture through out the music world. yes there is RAP but thats for ppl who want to talk bout dumb shit like stealing cars and wear fat ass fake chains from paul wall..lol

oh yea, i also like Nature.
