This is a cosmetic modification that will make those rusted calipers look much better. This is pretty much manditory if you have new wheels that you can really see through, but it looks great with the stock wheels as well
what you need:
Brake caliper paint, or engine enamel in the color your your choosing.
Primer - I used Rustolium primer meant for rusty surfaces
Tools:
Wire Brush
Simple Green cleaner
News Paper
Floor jack and jackstands
Tire Iron
Step One
Loosen the lug nuts on the wheels you are going to be removing.
Jack up either the front or back, depending on what you are painting. Place a jack stand under the car, then jack up the opposite side.
Finish removing both front, or both rear wheels. (You could just do one side at a time if you wish)
Step Two Use the wire brush and Simple Green to remove as much of the surface rust as you can
Step Three :
Get your newspaper and tape and mask off everything around the caliper. Make sure you mask off enough of the car that you don't get overspray on your nice paint.
Step Four: Spray on a few coats of primer to give the paint a good surface to bond to.
Step Five: After letting the primer dry for a few, spray on a few coats of your desired color. Multiple thin coats are better than a thick heavy coat that will run and drip
Step Seven: Reassemble the car Be sure to torque down the lug nuts to about 100 ft/lbs, as you don't want em to fall off when your driving! Also, be sure to lower the vehicle before trying to drive off! :)
Here are the photo i have done.
