DUSTIN WORLES

I'm only 8 months late posting these pics of our 2006 Gumball adventure. I haven't even got around to posting any edited GB3K video. Well here's part 1 of our adventure...

Back in April of this year, my buddy Deepak asked if I was interested in being his copilot on the Gumball 3000. I replied "Hell, ya!" It's been four years since my last Gumball adventure and this one was suppose to be the biggest. "Around the World in 8 days". We couldn't imagine driving around the world in only 8 days but since it was the Gumball, anything is possible. The entry fee was around $60,000 US!
Deepak's first vehicle of choice was a red 1996 Lamborghini LM002. Only 300 were made in the world and we found one in NC. Very unique but very fragile, very big, very uncomfortable, and very slow. We'd be screwed if this beast broke down on the other side of the world!

Our second vehicle of choice was a new Gallardo SE. One of my favorite cars! Unfortunately the one Deepak ordered had something wrong with the front suspension. The car was recalled but it won't be fixed in time to be shipped out to England.

At the last minute, we decided to take Deepak's 2001 Porsche Carrera 4. It had room for all our luggage (barely), it was AWD, it was reliable, and it does over 170mph. Deepak took it on the 2005 Players Run so it was already pretty beat up. We tuned it up, waxed it, and shipped it out to England.

We decided to head out to London about 5 days early. We'd figure we would party every night with other Gumballers. By the third day we were bored as hell! Every club we went to sucked. It was during the week and the whole city was dead. We got there on a Tuesday and the rest of the Gumballers didn't arrive until Friday.

Saturday night was the kick off party. Gumball premiered the "Aiya Boys" Gumball film called "Drivin Me Crazy". It was so horrible and most Gumballers either walked out or took a nap. Not a great motivational movie to watch a day before the rally launched! We just sat there and drank heavily. There were a couple celebs that came along on the Gumball; Bam, Ryan Dunn, Tony Hawk, Carey Hart, and a few other bmx riders and skateboarders. Some English stars came along but who cares, lol!
