Ok, so I took the old dealership badge off the back of my car. However, a little bit of the adhesive was left behind. Any tips on how to clean it off without striping/damaging the paint?

Im no expert, but maybe mineral spirits or a glue remover.

Goo Gone works great, but make sure you let it set there for a few minutes. You might want to get a semi-abrasive polish so kinda even out the paint, bc I'm sure it'll be a totally different shade!

I took my bros "2.5i" badges off of his X3 and the goo gone acted like acid and destroyed his sidelights..

I took the 'DODGE' emblem and the dealer emblem off my SRT and I used.... WAX, just wax that area a few times. :P

Goo Gone worked well for me. I debadged about 5 cars that way. Then wax up when you're done.

The only times you may run into trouble is if the car is white and old, the trunk has been repainted and the homies put the badge once the paint was dried to the touch (it'll "sink" into the paint and be embossed into it), or if the adhesive was some crazy glue or something dumb like that.

Otherwise, no problemo.

What I do to debadge is I head up the emblem w/ hair dryer, use fishing wire to slide underneath and pull off. Be careful not to actually scratch your paint w/ the fishing wire. Have it constantly pulling toward you, away from the paint, and make sure that the double sticky tape or whatever's holding your emblem is hot enough so that it just "melts" away.

Then follow this w/ some goo gone and finally some wax and you is done.

The EX emblem on my car is about ready to fall off... On hot days I could easily pull it off with two fingers.

should just pop that sucker off and throw you on a brand new GT-R emblem... apparently that adds like 200HP to your car.

Well, my car is old and light gray. :) But, I can't find the mineral spirits! So i'll see about some Goo Gone next time i'm at the store. Thanks guys. :p

Post some pics when you get done!

GTR emblems only add 200HP? I was going to find a 911TT and rip off the turbo emblem, then put it next to a TYPE-R sticker I got at PepBoys for $3.99. I think the combo adds maybe 250 at the wheels...

We need a "Sticker adds X hp threads not funny" thread. :p Otherwise, I could only imagine what those Teck stickers add. :p

Is Goo Gone at any old store, or would I need to look in a specific place?

Goo Gone or any non abrasive compound should work fine, just don't let it marinate long.

Be sure to give the area little bit of wax after you are done.
