Anyone Heard of the New Album with JayZ lyrics over LP beats?
A friend of mine had the Encore Remix
It sounds like another Brown Album/ Grey Album.
I wanted to know if this was legit or just some more bull....

yea, supoosedly jayZ came out with a album with dj's in mind. He came out with a album that you could add your own beats to, and vise versa...so I've heard....but isn't that called acapella?

Yeah, it's called acapella. And yes, he did come out with an album that was acapella because so many people were doing remixes of his songs, he figured he'd make some money off of it. There's a site, http://www.jay-zeezer.com/ where they have Jay-Z's voice over Weezer music. Some of the songs sound pretty cool. My favorite is "Surf Wax Off Your Shoulder"

So much for Jay-Z's "retirement". I thought he was taking over Def Jam and becoming a businessman or whatever?

From one of my sources i heard the album is to drop in the 15th of Nov (radio Dj in DC)
But from the MTV website they said the 30th
This all came about after Jay decided to make some money off of the whole Danger Mouse thing , so he dropped (a capela) Shinoda found out about this mixed some songs and sent them to jay. Jay decided it would be a hot track and they re-recorded a few songs that came from his Black Album and will be featured on the new CD. Its basicaly on the same line as the Jay-Zeezer thing but just a hell of alot better.Called Collision Course

I heard Encore with Linkin Park's music (don't remember what song) last night, and I thought it sounded like shit. I saw a performance on MTV today that had 99 Problems over Linkin Park's music (again, don't remember what song) and it sounded okay, but overall I wouldn't buy the cd.

def seems much better than most the bootlegs out there.
i just checked out the weezer/jay-z link tho.. 99 problems with buddy holy was terrible... most of it was off time. dirt of your shoulder remix was better.
i like dropping jay-z over drum and bass myself since it's basically half-time...
:bump:
Comes out this Tuesday...$9.99 @ CC (CD/DVD)!
I picked it up today. Here are the studio recordings: 1. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You 2. Big Pimpin'/Papercut 3. Jigga What/Faint 4. Numb/Encore 5. Izzo/In The End 6. Points Of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer
I like it a lot. My favorites are Jigga What/Faint and Numb/Encore. The DVD is pretty sweet too; over an hour long.
