Electronic Arts announced today that actress Emmanuelle Vaugier (Saw II, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Two and a Half Men) would star in Need for Speed: Carbon. Emmanuelle was selected to Maxim's
annual top 100 females list in May and is a rising star in Hollywood. In Carbon, she stars as Nikki, the ex-girlfriend of the hero who has returned to town to face his mysterious past.

According to EA, David Footman, who has worked on films like The Day After Tomorrow and X-Men, "was the director for the green screen video shoot with Vaugier. The full motion video shoot in Need for Speed Carbon processes live actors to look computer generated while maintaining their performances and facial expressions."

About working on the hit video game series, Emmanuelle says, "working with the Need For Speed Carbon team at EA has been a great experience for me. This is a game that evolves the racing genre, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

Need for Speed: Carbon will be released this fall.

however...i have a demo disc from this months OPM and it has a demo for carbon on it....dear god....i love it...the drift engine could be tweaked a bit better...buz you switch around wayy to quick....but altogether its pretty awesome

main thing i liked is the fact that with any car you get..you can stretch the edges and shit and make it a true custom job...kinda like how you havethe create a wrestler in the wrestling games...and you can stretch thier biceps out more and all that shit

so yeah...rightnow im just waiting for this and FFXII to hit the shelves...and finish paying off my preorders on em

yea i agree, but i think underground was a lil too ricey. i think most wanted was the best out of the new ones. but nothing will beat nfs hot pursuit 1. haha.

im about %80 done right now.....i find the super catch up mode of the cops and opponents on the touge to be a bit excessive... but i still think its fun! very pretty.
i do really like the downhill drift comps much more than in UG2

I have to agree that carbon was a real disappointment. It was like some bastard child of Most Wanted and the Underground series. I highly recommend Import Tuner Challenge. If you remember Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 for the Sega Dreamcast, it's almost the exact game. There are a few things that are different. The long straightaway in the Dreamcast game didn't make it to the 360 version. Plus the selection of cars isn't as big as it was. Definitely a buy though.

It's pretty cool actually. You customize the engine with packages, but you get to see the engine bay when your doing it. I had to do a Lexus GS300 to race this one guy who would only race sedans. I put the Level S (best) engine pacakage, and it showed ALL 3 TURBO'S.

How about the interior thing? Racing seats and gauges sounds kinda interesting.

just beat carbon....passed that bitch darius 35 seconds into the touge....sadly enough it was the first achievement i unlocked..but i have gotten more afterwards..playing online and such...the online multiplayer is i bit odd at times but still fun...
after i played the whole game it does feel very arcade style.....not a sim at all..

Both. Whatever gauge you get in the interior will show up on the screen. There's also an in-car view where you can see the gauges.

As for Carbon, I'm pretty sure you can unlock the mr2 and the M3 GtR by looking at the Reward Cards section. The M3 is definitely the hardest to get cause you have to: Get 200,000 worth of damage in one chase, unlock 33 cars and a couple of other things

A few thoughts...

The handling seems like a bit of an afterthought on EA's part.

Some of the modded cars are alittle ghey. The whole riced out Aston Martin thing... FTL.

Finally got around to renting this game.......wheres my Most Wanted game...lol, to quick and wayyyy to easy. Beat it in one week 100% done. All the challenges and Career, and only lost once in a race. And get this, never busted, I actually went in to career mode last night and got busted on purpose just to see how it was. Most Wanted = FTW, Carbon=FTL

So I finally bought the game and i'm stuck on the last "territory" trying to win any of these gay races with an Aston Martin or a Porsche Cayman S. Seems like i'm getting my ass whooped by the exotic 3 series (lambo, carrera GT) but I can't seem to win any of these cars to have some equal level of competition, and my territory keeps getting attacked and i'm starting to wonder what i can do. Nikki sucks as a drafter, drafters suck anyhow, I like the blockers better.

Drifting is actually really fun once you get the hang of it. When you're in mid-drift and you're about to hit the wall, just let go of the gas and it'll catch traction again, then punch it again to keep the drift going.

I love the game, just beat it last night, can't wait to mod all the other exotics. The Corvette was whomping everyone i was very impressed!!

i gave in and bought this today. I had an itch to buy a new game and since there was nothing else that caught my interest i decided to get this game. I heard people talking about it like it was a great game. I had my doubts since it is in face a Need For Speed game....NFS games have sucked in the past years. I have been playing this game for 2hrs, if that, and i am already 84% done with the game and i have only used 2 cars. I cant see this game having any good replay value unless you play with friends. The computer is easy as hell to beat and you just walk all over em. I wouldnt recommend this game to anybody unless you want a game to play for a day or 2, at the most.

I liked the drift alot! Once you get used to it, it's sorta eerie and surreal. Not every game has to be ultra realistic (and usually i'm the biggest critic when it comes to realism) but I honestly can say I like this one.

It really isn't a bad game just to have fun. It's no driving simulator. I am considering buying a controller for my computer cause the game is too hard to play using a steering wheel.
