New Posts don't stay on page

I have been noticing this the past few days....When I click on "New Posts" at the top of the page, there are only a few posts, even though many more posts have been made during the day. How does "New Posts" work? Is there a time limit that something stays new? I was wondering because about 30 minutes ago I started a thread with pictures from the truck show I went to today and already it isn't appearing when I click "New Posts."

Operator error.... Just kidding. I'll look into this tomorrow as I'm too drunk right now and may f something up if I log into the admin panel at the moment.
