IS300-T vs. 90 'Vette

Fun and quick just how I like em. :D

Guy driving his dad's 90 (or very early 90's) Vette pulls up next to me at a stop light and turns over to his dad and says, "Jeez, they're even ricing out Lexus's now...stupid rich kids" loud enough so I could hear him. So, I kind of look over and smile and give it a little gas like I'm gonna go at it. I put it in drive instead of the manual mode so I don't have to worry about shifting (whole reason I got the auto for the IS). Light goes green, dude in the 'Vette punches it, I lay into, car kicks it down, I break the tires loose, traction, and this dude is eating my fart-cannon dust. :laugh:

Next stoplight I look over at them and say, "I'm thinking about getting new plates...how does '8URV8' sound?" They didn't respond to my question. :D

Then, I think it was tuesday or something, but I went out cruising with my buddies Viper with a few mods. We lined up at a light and we both figured why not. I got the jump because I had traction and he caught me by 3rd gear. He didn't pull on my crazy though. I think if I ran more boost and my car was running better, it would've been close. I dunno...fun stuff though. I just got to get my IS running better so I can have more fun.

nice....those vettes have pretty highway friendly gears, so their acceleration isnt the greatest, but still a pretty respectable thing to kill....on the other hand, i smoked the shit out of a stock IS with my dad's car today....

Yeah, this Vette wasn't anything special but I still like them. Last night I was hanging out with a few of them; a Z07 (c5 w/427 crate motor), a c6 with some mods and a c6 Z06 (freaking beast). I still wouldn't mind owning a Z06.

And I got a few more stories from this weekend. I'll post later though. Taking out the boat. :D

lol....I think that one you are quoting had stuff done to it....lol. I always see the tpi vettes in the high 14-low 15's range....lol. I held even from passing speed with my friend's 85 vette(yes, still TPI) From a dig though, I know I'd lose....lol

yeah vettes suck! its absolutely no accomplishment that a c6 z06 can waste nearly any supercar on the planet (especially at highway speeds), costs only 65k, and can get 30 mpg while doing it.

yea the tpi's are slow as shit, the lt1 vettes were in the high 13's low 14's like he said and the lt4's can run high 12's low 13's.

yeah, i work at a racetrack and i watch vettes beat the crap out of 360s, f430s, 911 turbos, vipers and just about anything else under 500k.
