Pretty happy about this one. :D On my way home from work, I came up on a CLEAN fd rx-7 turbo with an older guy driving it lowered. Lowered, big brakes, 99+ front, r-spec lips, rims, exhaust, fmic, etc. Well, I drove by him and kind of looked over and then we hit some traffic. He passed me and revved it up a bit and heard some boost flutter so I figure he's got some stuff under the hood. Well, after dealing with traffic for a bit, we both head onto another highway where it's kind of open. I'm in front of him on the entrance ramp and I know he's in a low gear cause I could hear his car over mine. Well, we get on the other highway and he jumps in the lane next to me.
He pulls up and he's already revving pretty high. I drop it down to 3rd and wait. We match our speeds and then nail it. We were even up until I spooled then I started pulling away from him. Went all the way to 5th gear and I had about 3 car lengths on him. I shut down and he rolled back up again and looked over at my car. I kind of nod over at him but get no response back.
Pretty good run. :D Too bad it cracked my coolant line some more and I had to fix it when I got home. :( Need to replace the line tomorrow and it's a bitch to get at this one...it's behind the block.
BTW, I'm still having boost problems. :laugh: We figured out that my wastegate is stuck open so when I hit 10psi, it just goes at the wastegate from then on. Yay for needing a new wastegate.
