I noticed in a couple forums people are starting to use User Bars. Like the ones I just put in my signature. I think they are fun. But making your own is the most fun.
In photoshop you start out with the "standard size" 350x19 pixels.
pick a background color, in most of mine I have a gradient with white at the top and the color on the bottom.
use a pixel type font "visitor BRK.ttf" is most commonly used. Its a free true type font, google it.
Next make a 6x6 pixel document... zoom in as far as it will go, use the pencil to make a horizontal bar going across from opposite corners.
assign that as a pattern (should be in edit if I remember right)
now go back to the original document use the pattern stamp and just smear it across the whole document in a new layer.
adjust the opacity to whatever you like.
add the text you want something like "blah blah blah fan" write in white around 10pt font.
stroke the text with 1pxl in black. (right click on the text layer left click on blending options)
add picture of your choice.
when adding a picture make sure its small enough... and I prefer to select some of it and feather around it, but to the nubs this is annoying.
then you can be done here, but you can continue as well
flatten the image and add a new layer circular marque around the top to add a bit of a curve to the whole image. fill the selection in with white and adjust the opacity to your liking.
then once again flatten, then duplicate the background image so it unlocks.
then go to edit/stroke
1px black
now thats what I have done. You could add more, or do a different pattern.
I might add some pictures later if people want.... let me see some final products
aim me at "ChaenTrueleaf" if im on and you have questions.
