Hey everyone. I was the one who worked on his car. Me and one master technician. The motor will surely handle 9psi we are running right now. Motor was swapped with a 97 I30 with only 55k miles on it. compression reading 180 all around. which is perfect for a vq30de motor. egt never reading over 1300F. With greddy emange and 550cc injectors he will be tunning with his fuel pressure and a/f ratio will be fine. stock vq has gone over 400whp with emange and j&s safeguard to tune and retard timing as more boost is added. jkklim in my opinion will be one of the fastest maxima if he takes his time and tune it properly. :smile:

Shouldn't you get forged pistons and rods? I know maxima motors handle alot, but still if you want to up the boost.....

the motor will not be running full boost all the time. There will be a boost controller. probably 7psi daily and 11~14psi race setup. if his tunned and pay attention to his gauges and hopefully get a wideband o2 sensor he'll be fine on stock internals. Also that is a reason why he will be running j&s to retard the timing. :D

yea, thats is a perfect tune for a maxima motor. With forced induction it is always a matter of time though, and forged internals are cheaper than fixing a motor that blows. Down the line it would be a nice thing to get. I know im looking at getting supercharged and I would prolly try and get new pistons rods, etc within the year that I put the blower in. Good job with the turbo though man. Hopefully klim drives it right.

My car is a daily driver so I wouldnt go too all out. I want to get the Vortech V2-SQ. The mongoose kit is actually what I am looking at it seems to be one of the best kit on the market, comes with the walbro fuel pump, 42 injectors and all of that fun stuff. I want a tune around like 370-390 rwhp, the 2 valve motors aren't very reliable, so I want a somewhat safe tune.

Yea the kids dad has a supercharged M3. Last year there was an AMG I forget what kind I think Klim knows. Some other kid's dad gave him a 89 ferrari, but the kid drives a early 90s mr2 as an everyday driver.

If it is too old get a 97 or somthing, just start saving now and see where you end up. I wanted so many other cars besides the one I got. Wanted a 300zx TT, a rx-7, an m3, but the car I have now is in nice condition and wont cost an arm or a leg when it breaks, plus tons of aftermarket stuff for it.

Very nice, I love all the Nissan's. Once I am on my own and am working full time im deinetely buying a Maxima, black with chrome wheels and low pro's, the rest of the mods will be going under the hood. If the g/f says no, she goes.

That turbo kit put down 400+ whp on another car. Stock motor. Yes, tuning it properly will of course deliver the highest performance standards out of the VQ.

kenne bell has a few kids for the 2 valve. The 2.2 is beast they make a 1.7 also. Too much money though man, I am a kid. I did get the novi 2000 though. Which is perfect for me to build off of. There is a guy around here putting down 663wrhp on the novi 2000. I will prolly run just shy of 400wrhp until I forge the engine. I will start a thread with some pics. Won't be installed for alittle while I am still piecing it all together. Nearly have everything to upgrade the fuel system though. I am aiming for it to be in my car around feb. or march. But yea kenne bell makes some ridiculous kits, aren't very good for daily drivers though, if I had the money I would still do it though.

He is running just shy of 300 wrhp. He doesn't even have a tune yet. He got a ticket and doesn't have any money for the tune, after all this money on the turbo, trans., motor, etc. Hopefully he will have everything done kinda soon, he only gets it to like 4 psi, but running without a tune is not a very good thing to do.
