Ever thought about adding a meta-refresh to the "New Posts" (http://www.teckademicseast.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew) page? Every 30 seconds would be a good interval. :)

For those that dont know what is... Basically it will automatically refresh that page every "X" amount of seconds so you dont have to keep clicking it to find new posts.

No, it would only refresh the "New Posts" page. For instance. If you were reading a post or viewing the main section of the forums they would not be effected. ONLY the "New Posts" page that lists the topics with new posts. It wouldnt effect any other thing on the forum. Does that make more sense?

I believe it already does that.

I scanned the source code and didnt see any Refresh tags under Meta. Maybe its a VAR but I didnt see that either. I let it sit for a few mins and it never changed so I was guessing it didnt.

Currently the "Who's Online" will automatically refresh but not the "New Posts". There isn't an option to turn on this feature for the "New Posts" section, probably to limit processing time and bandwidth. Just click reload on the page, it will refresh.
:thankyou:

or, open up .net and make a simple webbrowser that refreshes every 30 seconds, and opens links in a seperate IE instance. Would work great with two monitor systems, like mine ;)

Meta Tags arent code based, its basic HTML. There might be a hack out there for the VB board though. I know VBulletin isnt the best coding work but its not that much of a process hog. The fact that there are minimal graphics on the "New Posts" page and they are stored in cache also helps out alot. It will not kill your bandwidth either, I know this from experience. If you set it to something ridiculously low, like 1-5 seconds it will.

Relax, it was only a suggestion. Sorry I brought it up.
