Good job sorting this out, you've got it down to an art now. I just wish I could actually GO to one of these. There must have been a million "east coast" bimmerfest events, yet they are always hundreds of miles away. It's weird. I specifically remember at least 2 or 3 threads started regarding bimmerfest east events in the DC/MD/NoVa area, then when the event becomes official, the location moves! :(

I know you can't just point your finger on a map and say "that's the perfect spot" .. there's a lot of planning going into it all, but you've got some flexibility.

I agree with TDC on the drive distance. Its only 200 miles from College Park to NYC. Its almost the same distance as driving to Richmond from College Park.

However, traffic is a female dog up in NYC, with parking limitations putting Satan to shame himself; so you might as well bend over if u have never been to NYC before and plan on driving. If I were you, I would take the train, then hail a cab ur first time. Once u scope the place out then maybe consider driving up there if u plan on visiting again.

Yeah the Marriot is literally ON the property of the Coliseum, no wonder a lot of people are staying there. Another decent place is Extended Stay America....about 10 minutes from the Coliseum, in Bethpage and only about $119 a night.


The Hollywood Motel in Lindenhurst has "theme" rooms :naughty: :p It's actually kind of pretty...I like the Whirlpool Suite :p www.hollywood-motel.com (http://www.hollywood-motel.com)

The night life over there is pretty decent, considering the Coliseum is less than 1/4 miles from both Nassau Community College (Made #1 on Playboys "Hot College Girls" list a few years ago) and Hofstra University :p Lots of bars......Illusions, Club 2686, Bogarts, Strike, Lily Flanigans are a few in the area or within 15-20 minutes. Mirage, Mulcahys, and The Crazy Donkey are good clubs. Posh in Garden City is good and very well-to-do if you have deep pockets :money::bier:

The Receptacle is a nice place, close to the Colisuem, nice bar area, but expensive, space is very limited so act fast!!
