I figured this would be the appropriate place to post this, but move as you will.

My mom's friend owns her own sign business where they make signs for businesses and storefronts and things like that. They have a guy who comes to their house and photoshops a digital image of the sign onto the building. She wants me to do the same job.(for a lot of money) I get a free copy of Adobe Photoshop to play around with as a bonus. I was wondering how hard it was for you PS gurus starting out? How long did it take you to get the hang of it?

I wish I had my own copy of pshop, I used it alot in this one class I had back in highschool, I found it very easy to work with but then again I didnt use it for a long period of time like some others on here. I hope this helps a little.

thankfully, there are like a billion tutorials out there. I think that if your are willing to be patient, and are doing a lot of it, and know your way around the comp, you should be able to pick it up without too much trouble

what version of PS are you going to be working with?

PS is fairly easy. It wont take you to long to get the hang of things. This doesnt mean things will look perfect, it just means youll know how to move around and know what does what. Just play around with it, once you learn how to do things, it just takes time to get better at it

I guess the mindset I should use here would be thinking of this as similar to learning to drive stick, it will get you where you want at first, but only after a while will precision come.

Thanks guys.

Also I don't know what version I will be using, but I would think a newer version of it. I'm kinda pumped to get it so i can start playing around.
