Ran a 2005 Saab 9-3

I was running some errands this afternoon...just cruisin' along. A white 05 Saab 9-3 starts riding me like i'm drivin' too slow or something. So i speed up to get him off my back. he starts to chase me......I'm thinkin' OK this guy wants to play. We're on a nice stretch of road, neither of us are pushin our cars (decenty amount of traffic on the road)......I pull up to a traffic lite (intending to make a left onto a midly windy road)....he follows. I pull off, do the 1st to 2nd thing......Kept it in 2nd to about 4K. Let him pull up beside me. Then i punched it. Took 2nd to 6K then shifted to 3rd. He started to fade back a bit, but it wasn't a complete blow out. He continued to chase me. A few cars on the windy road. I was able to weave thru them all safely. At this point i had about 4 car lengths on the Saab. We approached another traffic lite and ofcourse it was red. He pulls up beside me, i grin. Turns out this guy's like 50! He was askin' what kinda car i had, what year etc. I told him. He gave me props. After our brief discussion we parted ways. Fun times.

A bit of info about the Saab 9-3. Depending on the trim he had: 175 hp or 210 hp 2.0 L Turbo. The car weighs just over 3100 lbs. So i did have a weight & power. Didn't know this until i did a bit of research.

this dude here at my work has a new saab 92x auto. I dont really like it much. He has to drive around like a mad man just to use the turbo. It's not comfortable to ride with him.

Saab 9-3 is FWD 2.0L Turbo. I'm pretty sure it's a standard I4. The Saab 9-2X has the WRX EJ20 (turbo model)...while the N/A version gets the 2.5L Boxer (like the Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS)

Actually, they are AWD. If he had a hood scoop, than it was the WRX engine'd car. If not, then it was the 2.5 engine. Your SRT-4 would kill a WRX stock for stock (or mildly modded) Not decimate, but ruin his day that he got beat by a Neon.

We looked for a 92x for the longest time but noone could get me a black turbo one when Employee Pricing first came out...they sold out everywhere REALLY quick with the HUGE rebates and the cheap price...the one I wanted, fully loaded and optioned to the hilt was $19,800. But they could not find me one. The closest one was half way across the country and it was an automatic. BOOO!!

Its actually the other way around... the Cobalt and ION use a version of the SAAB motor. :thumb:
