so i saw this lambo diablo drive by our hang out and me and my buddy hopped into my car and went after it, we finally caught up to him on I-4 (local highway) and got next to him my buddy kept asking him if he wanted to run then finally the guy just took off, i said hell no you arent gonna jump me like that so i took off as well, he got about a car on me then once i got into it, it got really ugly.... i pulled a good 3-4 cars on him..... :D after that he wouldnt race me again haha.

Gearing does make a big difference. But the Diablo has a claimed 210 mph top speed. I just think that if he was racing, he didn't even bother to downshift out of fifth (I think the Diablos are only 5-speeds). Like I said, I'm not callin BS, just think the outcome should have been different.

I agree that Nitrous is usefull if proffesionally drag racing, and the rest of the people your racing has it. My friend has a 2002 Camaro SS with a 383 stroker...he makes close to 500 to the wheels N/A...he also has nitrous, but he never uses it to race people, he has it for track kinda things...

Running 100% is running N/A...all motor...(or if your car comes factory turbo/supercharged) Nitrous or an addition of FI is like running more then 100% in my eyes...

And i don't know what you have done, i only have an intake and an exhaust, and i don't know what you have with out the nitrous...Although i have pulled an LS1 Z28 with full exhaust (headers included) and an intake...but im pretty sure that race was just a drivers race, i shouldn't of beatin him.

And yea a turbo is a power add on, a lot of cars come the factory with a turbo, how many cars from from the factory with a nitrous setup? The car is bought with the turbo, you didnt buy your car with the nitrous. So the way i look at it is, you have the car with the major power add on, not the 4 cylinders with the turbos. You have the V8 to begin with, which is power all by itself.

On the subject of Nitrous: I personally don't agree with using it on the street. I don't respect N20 as a mod on a street car. If u have a bunch of extensive mods to the engine + Nitrous & u run it at the track, that's cool tho. A Supercharged V8 motor with supporting mods is more admirable IMHO.....Like 2FNLow stated, u have a V8. Stock: ur car has decent power. u can either run with or beatquite a bit of cars on the road w/o N20 In a sense, it is "overkill" for u to use it.

Nitrous is just a cheap way to go fast. Any asshole can spend a few hundred bucks on a bottle and a kit. It's fine for track use, but I think it's fucking stupid to use on the street all the time. The auto actually makes him slower. My friend has a 98 TA with intake/exhaust/throttle body and he only ran a 13.3 with street tires. But the fastest STOCK LS1 recorded was in 1998 with a stock SS, and it ran a 12.87 at englishtown. It was 45 degrees outside or something like that and a professional driver.

(or somethin like that) Well, bald ass tires, on dry ground in good track weather will grip better than tires with tread. More rubber contact with the ground = more grip. Tread is really only for rain, snow and legal reasons. When's the last time you saw a drag car with tread, or any car racing in dry weather for that matter, unless street legal tires was a requirement. It's getting so fucking old you comin on here and insulting all of us and our cars. You drive a god damn camaro and you need to get over yourself. I don't know much about tires? It has nothing to do with tires, it's simple physics. Who cares if slicks are made out of different compound than street tires? The rubber your tread is made out of is exactly the same rubber that is there when you're tires are bald, except there's more of it connecting with the ground cause there's not gaps in it to make it street legal or get decent wet/snow traction. Bigger contact patch = more grip. You need no tire knowledge to understand that.

It's not that you made a comment about all our cars. You called us all ricers, which is just fucking stupid. You also said that most of us drive "daddy's car." Which I still have no idea where that came from being anybody who does on here readily admits it, and there's nothing wrong with that anyway.

The reason you got called a ricer is cause you run around the streetusing nitrous to make power rather than real modifications. Real mods don't need refilling. There is a reason everyone calls it a ricer mod.

As far as the twisties go, did you see the Car and Driver race with the Gallardo, Murcialago, NSX, and a few Porsches Ferraris and BMW's? The two lambos absolutely dominated the the race, even against their direct competition. When I said they own the twisties, I was talking bone stock, not race cars.

And about you playing out your car, it's not that there's anything wrong with posting up your kills. It's that when people doubted it, you said something along the lines of "You just can't believe that an American car beat a Euro." I might be way off but it was something along those lines. That's the type of phrase that just makes you look like a jackass. I know street civics that run 11's, the make and model of your car mean nothing anymore, any car can be crazy fast given the right mods and time spent.

Sonoma...I would LOVE to, but there are a few problems that stops me from doing that: 1. The miles i would put on it until then would be far too many, including driving out there, 2. Gas out there is WAY more expensive then it is here, 3. I need to move a years worth of stuff, that aint going into the firehawk , not in this lifetime. 4. I just plain need money right now.

Heres my tentitive plan...sell the hawk now, get a nice FUN winter car, sell that come spring...Buy a fun summer car (my options for that are endless)...then following the next fall/winter, buy a truck. My dad has the 4 cylinder tacoma (brand new) and its a sweet ass truck, too slow for me, but i was thinking about the TRD package with the supercharger and the off road package...something along those lines.
